Not prepared for unusually cold or unusually hot weather. Thanks to the Mexican Gulf stream winters are usually quite mild. When such unusually cold arrives many pipes freeze and burst producing a lot of home insurance claims. Letting the taps run on a trickle would solve the problem.

Well - I was expecting 6 inches - but that's another thread.........
LMAO Midwich - you are soooo rude!
I still had to go to work despite slipping in the snow on my way and having to go home to change! After the first fall I took my own sweet time!

I had one very disappointed young man this morning - the news told us we'd be getting up to 4inches snow in the night so i told him he'd be able to make his first ever snowman today, and what was it when we opened the curtains - no bloomin snow!flipping weather people!

We had a couple of inches here, but it didn't cause any real disruption, and it seems to have mostly gone now, certainly off the main roads. I hate driving in snow, and was a bit edgy when I looked out the window this morning and saw a covering on the back garden, but I had no problems at all either getting to or coming home from work.
4 - 6 inches would be an entirely differrent matter, things would completely grind to a halt around here if we had that much.

I quit!
I love the snow so it would bother me. Plus I have a Subaru. I heard about New York. It will be crazy if they do get 100 inches. Not uncommon for that much snow in the mountains of the western US but I don't think New Yorkers are used to it.
