Tell that to people who've been waiting for the new system since 1914 or so....
When you wait for something and it happens in a reasonable time frame, then maybe.
It is a Catch 22. They are negative but they say they cannot be happy in this system because it is satan's and to be happy in it means that you are loving what is bad. But as a jw you cannot seek help for depression because you are not relying on jah and having a true hope for ever lasting life, so you sink deeper into depression because you feel things are so bad and you think you are not being a good jw.
They are a gerbil on a wheel. At some point you would think they would be tired of being run in circle by the wtbts. but as we all know ... they don't.

JH it doesn't matter whether it's legitimate or false optimism - it is optimism nonetheless!!
