My hubby was waxing eloquent on apostates the other day. I bet this statement comes straight from the society, "They can go and have their fun and enjoy themselves, but if they think that Jehovah will take them in at the last minute when the day comes, they can forget it."

I asked, "What makes you think they will ever want to come back to the ORGANIZATION? What makes you think they aren't right with JEHOVAH? Ex-witnesses come in all kinds. Some are very spiritual. How are you to know what they are thinking and feeling?"

Anyways, I think you are right. Fear-mongering is fast and furious at the halls these days. A bit of seige mentality going on.

Their numbers are falling. The "preaching" isn't effective; they're mainly baptizing kids. If they could strong arm "inactive ones" back into the org, it might make a difference. Maybe this is behind the push though the r&f wouldn't know it. This time they're buying into, again, the line that the end is practically here. Just think, if they could get former jw's back how much less work it would be than the door to door work.

I have no doubt she will return. She has physical ailments that will require someone to have to eventually stay with her and I know that she will not turn to anyone else ... she is a little hot headed Irish chick, so she is known to tell people off and not bat an eye that being said a lot of people (including jws) are afraid of her.

I do wonder if part of this is because I have been bringing up the hiding of info about child molesters. I felt if I slide that into convo that she would not feel pressure from me or that I was an apostate because she would certainly stop talking to me and never hear another bad word about the wtbts.

BTW my whole family (except my other bro) are all jws. We are a small group - I suppose because we are not Catholic :) because the Irish are known to bred. Due to the number of people dying in my family, it just consists of 1 grandfather, 1 mom, 1 aunt, 1 sister, a niece and a nephew, (1 brother and his 3 kids but he has nothing to do w/ us and left the house when he was 17/18 which was when I was a small kid, so I don't remember him much) and me.

Either way, it seems to go hand in hand w/ my other jw friends who have mentioned that since the "special tract work" that the whole chicken little approach to life that the jws have kicked into gear the whole - you better straighten up and fly right because the end is nigh.

DUMB@$$es Truthfully I knew the day was coming, I think we all know. We just hope it does not happen to us.

    Sorry looking_glass! ((()))

We must either have an easier going congregation here, or alot of them just ignore that rule......

My immediate family all talk to me, and would even invite me to dinner. The rest dont talk to me............and there are alot of them. Most of them dont live around here, but if they ran into me, i dont think most of them would look the other way.....just the ones who are elders.

Just think, if they could get former jw's back how much less work it would be than the door to door work.

Ive said this in the past, if they had changed the "shunning" policy a long time ago, I would probably still be going. I would have went back a year and a half ago, like I tried to, and still be in. (then i never would have found this board, and still be in the dark!!!

I have to wonder how many df'ed ones would run back if they lifted the shunning policy?

It doesn't look like God is in a hurry to let anybody in at the moment . Just what exactly do he think the fun is? I suppose it's staying home watching entertainment while they go to 5 meetings a week and have to relearn everything 50 times because the religion can't get it right . Yah we're real wicked and evil here .

What makes me sad for my mom is the fact that she really really wants the new system to come because she had ailments and this is what she has been looking forward to her entire life. How sad that she is older then she thought she would ever be "in this system of things" and getting sicker as the years go by and there is no hope that the end is soon to come (other then the wtbts saying it and of course she is going to really really want that to be true).

To me it is the dog that is beaten its entire life and then it takes it out on even those that try and love and take care of it. You cannot blame the dog, but the bite still hurts the same.
