We're snowed in for the second day running. Trouble is, none of us saw the weather forecast and now we've got hardly any milk or bread!
(I couldn't get this site to work yesterday, either, so I couldn't cheer myself up.)
On the positive side, the kids and I have built a huge snowman in the garden and played loads of boardgames etc and just had fun!!
How on earth do you folks cope, who have snow (and a lot deeper than this), regularly?
Love,

How do you deal with fog and rain all the time? Maybe I am wrong but this is what I heard that England is always like. Please tell me if I am. One can easily get use to their surroundings and if that is all you know, then it is normal and anything else is the abnormal/

Yes, it is true, it is foggy and rainy all the time, we all have bad teeth, and we all talk like Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

Fact for the day - it rains 1 tenth less in summer than winter in the UK - hold up ten fingers - thats how much it rains in winter, hold up nine and thats our summer! if it hits 30C we all think we're dying and they slap on hosepipe bans cos they cant be bother to fix leaks!

You had a lot of snow then DNC?
Strangely, I coped a lot better when we used to have a lot of snow - these small falls are worse imho because it gets very icy too so more chance of accidents - pedestrians slipping and motorists underestimating the icy conditions. In deep snow pedestrians have something to plant their feet in and motorists stay off the roads.
I think if we ever have really bad snowfall again in the UK (talking 4-6 feet, not just a few inches), some of us may begin to miss all the local shops which have been sacrificed on the altar of the god called Tesco over the years.
abr - yes we get a lot of fog and rain in Yorkshire at least - even in summer! Summer fog is dangerous because it becomes patchy as the sun burns it off so you can literally go from blazing sunshine to dense fog in seconds, it makes driving hazardous! The freezing fog we have at the moment isn't nice either. When you're local, you know where to expect it so you slow down when driving.

We've had around 6 inches here. It's still coming down thick and fast! The forecast for today was mainly dry and bright!!
It's very picturesque here in our woods, though.
I've sent Hubby & Kids trudging through it to go and find some provisions.(Not the TESCO!!!! Can't stand Tesco).
You're right I think, Sad emo, we had a fall yesterday of a few inches which froze. Now the fresh snow looks safe to walk in, but under it is this icy layer. I'm staying in!!
Avidbiblereader, we do get a fair amount of rain here in Wales, but at least you can still get out in it.
