  When I was in the "truth" all the WTS dates just were part of my everday thinking. Now that I have deprogrammed myself I can clearly see that I was part of an evil cult. Just thinking about those stinking dates makes me want to vomit

  1. 1914 end of gentile times and end of Christendom (Its still here)

  2. 1918 was when Jesus had an inspection tour of the Watchtower Society organization. Jesus approved and said "by gosh I can't think of a better bunch to represent me"

  3. 1919 was when Jesus approved of the "faithful and discreet slave" (formerly known as the faithful and wise servant) Jesus had alot of belongings including some posh ones in crooklyn .

  4. 1935 was when the door to heaven was closed forever. I did not know that heaven had a door and why was it closed in 1935? There is no scriptural support for that.

  Sprinkled in between these dates are others, such as the dates of the Cedar Point Ohio conventions where Rutherford claims the dates of the these conventions fulfilled bible prophecy. This is of course hogwash and only proves that Rutherford was a mad egomaniac bent on elevating himself to prophet status.

  These are only a few dates that the WTS can't change. They are set in stone forever and ever. It is these dates and others that are destabilizing the WTS and cracking it's foundation. (example: generation change in 1995) I wish Jehovah's Witnesses would wake up and see that the WTS are a bunch of evil lying bastards with the intent of world domination by cultism.

  No argument fro me there, Cultswatter. The longer I am away from the org, the more I realise the truth of that statement.

  As for those dates, they once made perfect sense to me due to the mental fog I was in as a jw, but they just seem so meaningless now. They have to cling on to them though, despite the overwhelming historical evidence regarding the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians being 586/587 rather than 607, which it would have to be to make 1914 several other dates viable in the jws eyes. I suspect there would be a lot more leaving than there are now if they ever changed those dates.

  Jehovah's Witnesses are an oppressive fraud for God cult. The Watchtower is a total ripoff,their core doctrine is that Jesus ALREADY had his second coming in 1914 and made them da boss.

  They appear in the cults section here as well, they are very well represented.

  We were looking on the Rick Ross site earlier, and there's a big section on jws there, along with all the other cults. Their section is bigger than most.

  As far as the jw being a cult, there's zero doubt about this fact in my mind. The leaders claim to represent the creator of all things, a person they disrespectfully refer to by what they believe is its first name, Jehovah, and yet when questioned, they vehemently deny they are prophets. They boldly challenge everyone from every other religion to dissect their beliefs to see if they can pass the litmus test of truth while threatening any of their supposed brethren with ex-communication if they even show an interest in attempting the same.

  They claim to the governments that they don't sell their literature, yet they have their circuit and district overseers hound the congregations for donations. Their primary tactic of motivation isn't love and empowerment, but fear and the threat of abandonment. They teach husbands to treat their wives like posessions and they teach their kids to sacrifice their childhoods and dreams on the altar of kingdom interests. They mandate that all who follow their dysfunctional teachings play Russian roulette with their lives with regards to blood transfusions. They subtly teach their members to be bigots and self-righteous, insinuating that all people who serve God apart from their Patriarchal organization are evil servants of God's greatest enemy.

  Their teachings are destructive and their forced adherance criminal.

  It shows how they affect their recruits:

  	Personality changes: Do you find yourself saying, "He's a different person," or, "I don't know her anymore"? Destructive cults successfully replace their members' personalities with new identities.

  Until a smarter, wiser predator exposes them as such...then their followers will become their predators...and possibly free from predators..or prey to the exposing predator.

The trouble is, it can be difficult to tell which is which. A group of friends can act like a cult in some ways, as can any organization. The real test is in the amount of punishment, coercion and negative techniques that are used.
