I got in touch with JW's ...I got conned and indoctrinated....I wised up after 20 years and got out ...phew and grrrrr....thanks for reading....he he.... bet you thought it was gonna be a newboy story ...didn't you?...I wish....nothing to see here...I was on microphone duty a few times though...; )

My story is similar to yours, except I was duped for 25 years, then got wise and got out.

Honesty

The only difference between your story and mine was that the JW's contacted me.

They were like barnacles.

I got conned.

I got baptised.

I found out that I had been conned.

I escaped.

I got Jesus.

It all worked out.

That's how I generally tell my "story" if anyone asks. I usually say
I was a jw once, and now I'm not one, what more is there to say?

I was on microphone duty a few times myself, wasn't it a privilege?
Almost as good as being an attendant, where you got counselled
by the elders to be friendly to visitors, and the sound desk, the best
job of all.

How I don't miss those days.
