Mad- Sounds like you're a member of the 'Governing Body", Wafe! Did Jesus use the word "world"...or Jerusalem? Was it just to Jews or..."All Nations"!!! Where did I get THAT stupid idea? Hmmmmmmmmmmm! - Mad

    Matthew 24:14 (King James Version)
14- And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The Witnesses aren't preaching any "Kingdom good news." Ask around. Essentially NO ONE has any idea what JWs are preaching about in the countries where the Witnesses are active. They are seen as placing magazines and books with people, literature salesmen, and certainly not known for any message in particular.

I've talked about this with literally hundreds of people since I left the Witnesses, and the little that people actually know about JWs is mostly negative, No birthdays, holidays, no blood. The positive thing they might know is about quick builds.

As far as world wide, the Witnesses are essentially unknown among at least half the world's population - India, Pakistan, China and East and North Africa alone account for a few billion people who've never heard or seen a Witness. And with population growth outstripping the growth in preaching every year, the Witnesses are just getting further and further behind.

No, this worldwide Kingdom preaching by the Witnesses is just another myth they tell themselves.

Yes Mad, that is what the bible says, and, as Satanus pointed out, the Roman Catholic church did this work long before the jws were even thought of.

And please don't insult my intelligence by telling me only the jws teach the truth, they didn't teach me any in the 25 years I was one. You have to know the truth to teach it, and thewatchtower is sadly lacking in that department imho.

Satanus said: It has already been done by the catholic church w the help of the roman imperial govt. It covered europe, and then went into virtually all of the countries of the world. It went up directly against indigenous and other religions using the appeal of christ, force, appeasement, and many other innovative methods to convert/spread the christian gospel which they had put together in their book, the nt bible. It accomplished this over the period of many centuries. Time for the wt and it's brainwashed drones to wake up to the fact that this was a finished work since long before charley russel and his johnny come lately new age wackos bobbed to the surface.

LMAO! Satanus, I don't think I've ever heard it put quite so eloquently.

This is an example of trying to win a pathetic point in an argument by default.

If you can't say who else is preaching the "good news" (i.e.: jehoobie will slaughter you and your children if you don't take the litterature and offer a donation), then it MUST be them!!

Much the same lame thing said by creationists - if God didn't make the universe how else could it have started?

A bit like not knowing what is in the pantry when somebody asks "If we can't phone out for a pizza, what will we eat??"

Of course if you mean who else would be dumb enough to preach the slaughter and mayhem expounded by the witlesses, the answer is nobody. It still doesn't prove they are not liars.

germanXJW wrote:""There are two texts chiefly relied upon by those who claim that the Lord will not come until after the Millennium, to which we would here call attention. One is, "This gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (Matt. 24:14) They claim this as having reference to the conversion of the world before the end of the Gospel age. But witnessing to the world does not imply the conversion of the world. The text says nothing about how the testimony will be received. This witness has already been given. In 1861 the reports of the Bible Societies showed that the Gospel had been published in every language of earth, though not all of earth's millions had received it. No, not one half of the sixteen hundred millions living have ever heard the name of Jesus. Yet the condition of the text is fulfilled: the gospel has been preached in all the world for a witness--to every nation." (C.T.Russell, Divine Plan of the Ages)

German- (1) I'm not a Russelite- were you? Is that reference supposed to enlighten me somehow?

    (2) "Conversion of the World"? Are you high?

    (3) Not ONE of the sixteen hundred millions.....You must be working alonside Christ to know that, eh?

    (4) Divine Plan of the Ages? Hah! I KNEW it - you ARE a Russelite!

With the good news, you mean the JW version of the good news here.

So in fact you ask: How is the JW version of the goodnews not preached if not by the JW.
hmmm. have we a contradiction here

The good news in general is already preached everywhere, so what are we (or better your god) waiting for?
