It seemed that running my business and all the meetings at the Hall, plus my social life was taking a toll on my time. There was a Brother at the Hall, that was married, and a very good public speaker (used to be a Radio announcer) . Anyhow, he was always short on cash and was agreeable to my offer as follows..............

If I was assigned to give a talk out of town at a neighboring congregation, I would pay him to take the talk for me as a substitute (at the time $25.00) and then I would stay home that day.

I gave him $10 for an Instruction talk, $10 for a Service Meeting part, and $5 for anything else such as reading the Watchtower Sundays or a Bible reading, etc.

It was a 'Win, Win' situation for both of us.

Man, that a great deal. Donald Trump charges a million for a 1hr. lecture. It's nice to know that money talks loudly, even in the theocratic world of Jws.

Well I am not a guy, so no.

But I hung out w/ some boys where were a bit of the "bad seed" of the hall. They were known for betting on certain things. Like how many times a certain elder would say "Jehovah" during his prayer. It was the whole over/under bet. They also bet on how long the closing prayer would be. They got pretty good at betting on certain bros and their habits. Although, I was a good jw and did not bet any money ... I did keep track because I was the impartial keeper of the info and would be the ultimate decision maker as to who won or lost. It actually caused me to pay close attention to certain things.
