Did you really want to have "Privileges"

I had no interest in being an Elder, so they made me one! When a person wanted a position so bad they could taste it, they had to do handstands to even get noticed. Go figure, 'Privilege my butt'. More like 'free labor'!

Outaservice (and the pay was lousy!)

I only wanted privileges or duties because I was indoctrinated to think that to please Jeover I should reach out for them. Think of all the free labor that the WT has reaped from that type of indoctrination. Everything they need you to do for free, just label it for jeover, and God loves a chearfull giver, and you get it,, what a scam!

I used to carry the mics, and run the sound booth. Running the Mics was cool, because during the paragraphs, you could go out in the lobby and chat it up with the other Mic guy. Plus it kept you awake.

I also used to read at the bookstudy and for the Watchtower. That sucked cause you had to be on point the WHOLE time.

I also did random things around the hall- cleaned and whatnot.

    Don't miss any of it.

"privileges" to me just meant I had other things to do besides pay attention, so I didn't mind them.

I am given responsibilities whether I ask for them or not. Sometimes I will find out at the last minute. I'm never informed. It's just dumped in my lap. Of course, I always do a good job, so I get more. Thus the vicious cycle continues.

    Responsibility sucks.

I always thought privileges was just another example of taking advantage of people.

As an Elder's son I was happy for each and every "privilege". If it was a public talk, conductung my own CBS or cleaning the toilets at the convention site. An I was really proud of it feeling that Jehober was using my talents. It was in the later part of my "career" that I realized that I was a thankful victim for the elders for any work that they did not want to do.
