It is crumbled and it sticks really well to popcorn with butter. Here is what it looks like:

Usually I bring a clear plastic bag (the kind you put vegetables in at the supermarket) to the movies in which I shake and mix up the seaweed/sesame seeds with the popcorn. Then I add arare rice crackers (mochi crunch) with the mix....it is so delicious. It looks like this, though when I make it there is a lot more proportion of seaweed:
I first encountered this mix in 1991 or so when it made its debut at the Cosmic Candy and Popcorn Planet store in Pearlridge. Previously, I had just added arare to the popcorn. That store is now defunct but it is now widely marketed as "hurricane popcorn" today.
