Isn't that the truth! He always gives a great performance.
I hope Scorsese wins an Oscar. Somebody told me the other day he has never won a single one! If this is true it sucks. He's done some brilliant films like 'Goodfellas', 'Raging Bull', 'King of Comedy' etc so its about time he scooped that one of them presigious golden statues.
I never watch the academy awards show or any of the multitude of others (SAG, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc.) I don't think there's a more narcissistic and self-contratulatory bunch of people anywhere.
That being said, I do take note of the films that win because they're usually worth the DVD rental fee.

ifcviking You said it! Don't forget Casino which had DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone giving an unbelievable performance.

And the Oscar goes to.............the Jehovah's Witnesses, hands down!
Sorry I couldn't resist.

Ennio Morricone is to receive a lifetime achievement award for his movie music: over 400 scores, I believe. Five Oscar nods, but never a win.
