What`s cooking in the wilderness?..Scallops wrapped in bacon..Chicken drummettes done in a jamacian hot sauce..Baked potatoe with all the trimmings and a spring salad with a balsimic vinigar dressing...OUTLAW

OMG, Outlaw!!! Who's cookin' that? Are you fixin' this yourself? Or is that order in shtuff? Does it ship well?

    What??

How come all of you are making such fancy stuff?

It's homemade this, homemade that, something or other in a white wine sauce...!!!!!

No one's having ramen or uhhhhh, reheated ravioli, like me...?

I feel like a culinary loser.

((((((((Kudra)))))))) I love to see what others are putting on the table. Sometimes I eat vicariously when I've only got something reheated or out of a can or box.

(Edited here to add: Shut yo mouf, Kudra! This is how I get meal and recipe ideas.)

Kudra..Let a French Chef help you..Put your ravioli in a dish that you can bake in..Fry up a little hamburger, spice it with garlic onion and pepper..Layer it over the ravioli..Shred some cheese and layer that over the hamburger..Preheat oven to 400f..Put the ravioli in the oven and bake for 20-25 min..Take the ravioli out..Let it cool for 5min..Top it with a bit of sour creme..There you have a restaraunt quality dish...OUTLAW

At our ages...........food is one of the few pleasures we have left.

LOL, New Boy! If dat ain't da troof about da troof! Probably why it's the only pleasure left to jdubyas (with restraint, of course), since their leaders have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel.

I find the whole ritual of chopping peeling arranging cooking very relaxing at the end of the day. Or just beating the mix for Galettes, and making the filling. I don't do time consuming elaborate dinners, but I think that self-respect means to do something kind to yourself every day. Roasted joints or poultry, curries, chili, anything taking over an hour is only for when I have friends to stay.

    Exactly, HamsterBait.

Thank you Frannie!! Looks like a good recipe too! I'll make it, and I'll eat it, but I'll be thinking of yer gumbo sniffle, sniffle.

Tonight I am having something simple but time honoured, fried sirloin steak (medium done) with pepper and onions, plus roast potatoes and salad. Madjool dates for dessert.

He mixed the stew with the rice and added a dollop of mustard. I hesitantly copied his attack on my Irish stew and was amazed at how good it tasted. It's different, to be sure, but it sure was good.

Mustard goes with everything, I would use Jalapeño Mustard, it has a little kick.

For dinner tonight? Whatever the wife makes.

Frannie - forgot to say DON'T use olive oil. Avocado is the best for this, or sesame.

Okey dokey, HB. Sounds like a good plan. I'll make note of it.

At least it wasn't me that did it, I am sure she will cook me a gourmet meal as she is a fabulous cook, never ate anything she made that I didn;t love.

abr, you lucky duck! Ahhh....the way to a man's heart.

Yeahhhhh, Greendawn. That sounds LUSH! Slide a few of those dates over here, will you, please? There's some walnuts and powdered sugar that want to make their acquaintance.

PEC, for me, Gulden's Spicy Brown mustard has all the kick I'm willing to give my tongue in the mustard department. You're wife must be a terrific cook, chere.

We had plain hamburgers, rice, and some of that green bean casserole that we normally only have at Thanksgiving. Good comfort food!

Frannie, sometimes when you say Crabby Pants, my mind reads it as Crappy Pants (don't tell him I said so!). I do this every once in a while--see a word like Chesapeake and think it says Cheapskate. Never been dyslexic, but dang, it sure makes for some interesting reading.
