My brothers and their wives stopped speaking to me back in August, everything hit the fan. My parents just returned from a visit and my mom brought me something from my sister-n-law, very weird. So I sent her a thank you card and after a few weeks she responds with a short note resembling this:
your welcome.
Love, xxxxx
1 John 4:1
1 John 4:1 states: Beloved ones do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
I want to say:
Nice to hear from you. I couldn't help but notice the scripture that you included and I couldn't agree more. It is so true that there are those that wish to lead us astray and that False Prophets endeavor to pull us from truth. I then I want to slam her for being misled by false prophets
Please note the next verses to get the full meaning of the text:
2. you gain the knowledge of the inspired expression fromGod by this. Every inspired expression that confesses Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh originates with God, 3 buy every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. furthermore this is the Antichrists (inspired expression) which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world. . I went on Wikpedia and pulled up this definition: This passage speaks of the Antichrist and Antichrist is translated from the Greek a?t????st?? antĂkhristos, which literally means "opposite of Christ". A broader meaning is "in place of Christ". Therefore, antichrist means opposed to Christ by being in the place of Christ. The term itself appears 5 times in 1 John and 2 John of the New Testament--once in plural form and 4 times in the singular. You will be relieved to know that we don't fall into this category, we do not oppose Christ. So I am trying to compose an answer that is pointed without being nasty. Does anyone have any suggestions or points that can be included, something that will make her think or stick in her head.
