what qualification do they have exactly?

    >>we cannot deny that he is using a worldwide congregation,

I deny that he is using a worldwide congregation.

Actually, that was pretty easy! I'd say anybody could do it!

Good thoughts, Mary. Like any salesperson, the Watchtower is pointing out all the objections a person might have -- wrongs not fixed, for instance -- and providing a way to mentally slip around them. If you're already sold, you've got the tools in your head to stay sold. Good ploy.

Imagine what good the folks at the Watchtower could do if they turned their attention to something worthwhile? If they aimed those propaganda guns at world hunger or AIDS, they could work miracles.

The ability to kiss the ass immediately above them while climbing the theocratic ladder.

I find it embarrassing that during my time in it took SO long to see how Jesus Saves was supplanted by the Org Saves. That without the Org all was for naught.

Having posts like this really bring out the bare metal faults of the WT reasoning.

Oh and they are funny too!

I really think the WTBTS is running scared right now that they are about to experience a division. There's another forum I briefly visited recently and it sounded like active JW's discussing the possible "apostasy" of the org itself....a division between the "real" Jehovah's Witnesses and those in the corp who are now running it. They talked about meeting together in small groups to discuss some of the current changes being put forth. I didn't stay on it long because they are still dyed in the wool JWs who still believe they have The Truth and espouse their doctrines, but they are concerned about the recent "crap" coming out of New York. Also, the article WhereamI posted in a thread about when the calling of the heavenly hope will cease, the last two paragraphs sounded strange to me.

Am I reading too much into this?????????

How should a person be viewed who has determined in his heart that he is now anointed and begins to partake of the emblems at the Memorial? He should not be judged. The matter is between him and Jehovah. (Romans 14:12) However, genuine anointed Christian do notdemand special attention. They do not believe that their being of the anointed gives them special "insights" beyond what even someexperienced members of the great crowd may have. They do not believe that they necessarily have more holy spirit than their companions of the other sheep have; nor do they expect special treatment or claim that their partaking of the emblems places them above the appointed elders in the congregation. They humbly remember that some anointed men in the first century did not qualify to serve as elders or ministerial servants. (1 timothy 3:1-10, 12, 13; Titus 1:5-9; James 3:1) Some anointed Christians were even spiritually weak. (1Thessalonians 5:14) And sisters, although anointed, did not teach in the congregation.
Hence, anointed Christians along with their other sheep companions strive to stay spiritually strong, cultivating the fruitage of the spirit and working for the peace of the congregation. All Christians, whether anointed or of the other sheep, work hard at preaching the good news and making disciples, under the direction of the Governing Body. Anointed Christians are content to do this for as long as it is God's will that they remain on earth as Jehovah's servants.

    Mary,

This article is precisely why I say that those inthe writing department have malicious intent. They KNOW the effect that their teachings have on the rank and file, they know

there isn't a grain of salt behind their teachings. That's why the Minor Prophets boook which came out lats year actually acknowledged that some refused to go to college believing

that the end was near and now don't want to encourage their kids ot make the same choices.

There is nothing but EVIL INTENT among these deluded fanatics.

The WTS seems to be very worried about people leaving the organization.

My advice to them is to wait on Jehover who will solve the problem in his own due time.

Mary,Thought I would share this tidbit with you. Public Talk no.3 3/1991. SERVING WITH JEHOVAH'S UNIFIED ORGANIZATION. The note to the speaker reads: Build appreciation for Jehovah's visible organization and the important role it plays in our relationship with him. Show that rejecting the organization is tanamount to rejecting Jehovah and his purpose to "gather all things together again in the Christ". ( Eph1:10 ).Make it clear that only those who come into and remain in unity with Jehovah and his organization will get life.

In view of the many leaving the organization, I wonder how many times they have the Elders giving this public talk around the congregations. Some times the Watchtower article that you mentioned and the public talk mesh together reinforcing that in order to get life one must remain in Jehovah's organization. As the last sentence in the note to the speaker warns. I guess many in the rank and file are not swallowing this warning and don't believe that the Watchtower is Jehovah's organization anymore.

Mary, Thanks for all your input, you add much to this forum, keep it coming.

Let me guess, the paragraphs mentioned are accompanied by corny photos of a packed-full congregation of smiley-sunshine jaydubs, with captions such as 'We receive Jerhover's warm spiritual blessing by associating with his happified people'.

    Dear Mary,

Your commentary is well-put and -received. A favor, please. Could you repeat that info on your father's and other older ones' reaction to the ass'y speaker's smug comments about the deplorable lack of faith re: retirement and no money. It was a past thread or post. And if it isn't hijacking your own thread, your comments and that photo you did of the KH roof being opened up to the worship of the 24 heavenly elders [at least the link, please].
Do you personally feel there is an outside influence upon the GB, given their unsavory connections with "the world"? An agenda hidden from the r&f?

    Coco
