I was talking to a pioneer yesterday; he was all excited over the new Memorial tract, said how nice it looked. He commented that the "Society said we don't have to take not-at-homes for this campaign."

I asked him what he thought of the campaigns and the fact that we have a convention campaign coming up soon. He thinks its great, easy work and these campaigns really work.

Poor guy - thinks he's working for Jah and all he's doing is working for a religious publishing and real estate company.

I mean c'mon - who in the world is going to sacrifice a Friday to hear 8 hours of cult indoctrination? Very few IMHO.

Also noticed that the US now has over 100,000 reg. pioneers but if you baptized over 25,000 over the last 5 years, you're bound to attract some high octane-dubs to the pioneer ranks.

Their numbers used to be 945,000 back around 1997 there now 1,040,000 - mainly immigrants perhaps?

YOU MEAN 1 IN 10 USA PUBLISHERS IS A PIONEER!

    - mainly immigrants perhaps?

JW children would be my guess, with a few immigrants mixed in.

You know how it is, everything is working as wonderful as it possibly can in the JW world even if it is a failure.

"Society said we don't have to take not-at-homes for this campaign." ---What does that mean?

Carla...Means keeping tract of the people not at home, and returning later to try to catch them..... Now they can just leave the tract at the door and not go back.

It means if someone's "not home" they can just leave the tract at the door instead of coming back at another time. Basically, that means most people walk up to the door and leave the tract without knocking.

Ok, thanks. Kind of like ringing the screw instead of the doorbell. I suppose it makes sense though. So how many tracts do each jw get this year? A previous tract campaign I think they each got 50 to distribute. They get to count them as 'placed' though?

Carla, It's 50 for the Memorial campaign as well. I've already got my 50. I won't be placing any.

In Denmark and Norway the number is half, perhaps even less. And interstingly, the hours drops in vacation months!!!
