David, the hero of the WT and governing body. He lied, whored, killed, misled a nation; never paid the price.
"Golden Nugget"? or the same old turd with yellow ribbon tied around it?
"Theocratic Ministry School—a meeting where the rank and file JWs obsess about have to give a talk 2 or 3 times a year; talks that end up being manuscripts with a script for the JW playing in the "householder" (for women) and where men never learn how to talk to people one on one, only being trained to give public talks. A school where the elders wing it on the #1 and Bible highlights and where the same 3 sisters answer the questions.
Service Meeting—where they learn what the literature to be feature that month is; see poorly rehearsed demonstrations of the WT "suggested" sermons; where the rank and file go home and continue to use the same presentation thay have for the last ten years.
This is also where they learn how to dress and groom themselves."
NICE; you are in rare form today O Blonde One.
I am sure you prepare your review with more rigor than the author of the WT!!
Thanks Blondie! King David's sins are always glossed over and show that if fornication and manslaughter don't hinder a man from being the King of Israel then they surely are a good excuse for the GB for committing grievous sins against the JW's of the world and getting away with it.
Trying to find a movie to go to, Mimzy or 300 or Breach.
Saw 300 yesterday. The Spartan battle formations and weaponry were portrayed very well. Has a lot of violence (but that's expected given that its a movie of a Spartan battle)..but if you enjoy that period of history it's pretty good. sammieswife.
High Priest Hilkiah found "the book of Jehovah's law by the hand of Moses," doubtless the original copy completed some 800 years earlier
The OT Bible is considered by many experts to be the merged works of Scripture from the North and South Kingdoms compiled by Ezra. Many Jews do not consider the 1st five books of the Bible as accepted today to have been written by Moses either. Ezra had his hand in editing those books, too.
Quiz :
Assuming that Bengali brothers and sisters are very zealous and can call, on average, on 60 persons an hour, over the whole year, every year,
we know from the yearly report that the 101 publishers who live overthere have logged, all together, 22 028 preaching hours in 2006 ;
and that every publisher has to call on 1 377 246 persons to cover the territory.
How long will the average honesthearted Bengali have to wait until he sees the first JW turn up ?
and how more long will he have to wait if he's dealing with belly trouble at the very precise time when the brother knocks ?
Thanks again for your hard work Blondie.

What a contrast we see between the spiritual prosperity of God's people and the religious confusion of Babylon the Great! As a result, many who are disillusioned or disgusted with false religion are turning to true worship.
I used to believe this, and found it easy to do so because I had once gone to church (as a boy) and then stopped. It was comfortable to assume that I left because of some intellectual/spiritual insight that I instinctively possessed.
However, now that I occasionally attend one of Christendom's churches and have gotten to know some of the folks seated there, this statement from the WT magazine rings false. If anything, the "contrast betweeen the spiritual prosperity of God's people and the reglious confusion" is the other way around - God's people more aptly describes the church goers I've met. Prosperity pretty much describes their situation, both materially AND spiritually. The religious confusion takes place down at the local Kingdom Hall, where even now they are all trying to figure out what the hell happened to another of their unique teachings (1935).
Thanks, Blondie. I'll probably end up going to this WT study at the KH. I hope I can get through it w/o gagging. Recently (I think it was the last CO visit) the apx half-million baptized in the last 2 yrs was cited as evidence of Jah's blessing. Of course a closer look at the stats reveals that for every 5 baptized, 3 are no longer publishing. Of course in many western countries there is even negative growth. Oh how I would love make a "comment you will not hear.." at tomorrow's study...but I don't have the guts.
People believe what they want to believe and the truth is not that important to many in "The Truth".
