When I first joined the JWs in 1983 they used to pick the pepperoni off their pizza. When I was by myself I secretly ate my pizza with the pepperoni intact.

If they ever ban coffee they'll lose most of their members. The pioneers™ would be the first to go.

Sounds like the Witnesses and the LDS may be considering joining forces.

Surely the coffee industry doesn't like the mormons. But I think all the dubs meant in that article is that some of their people don't like caffeine and they didn't mean to imply that drinking coffee is wrong. However this scandalising issue can be used as a means to conrol in other areas.

I can see it now: "A Christian will rely on his bible-trained conscience when deciding if he should attend a social function where caffinated beverages may be served."

I never have drunk coffee its just a thing i don't do i don't like the taste off it and i often get wierd looks 'You don't drink coffee'.

Also i no longer don't drink tea either, that was a pregnancy thing.

So i get even wierder looks no tea or coffee.

This BTW is just a personal preference.

By all means everyone is different, and im sure you won't stumble anyone if you drink coffee

One of the toughest things about the day-to-day life of being a jw is the whole stumbling thing. You can't make even the smallest of decisions without wondering if someone somewhere will be stumbled by your actions.

If someone is so easily stumbled by my actions that would show to me that THEY have a weak faith. Rather than me accomodate them and change my ways I would suggest to the elder or elders that those weak ones be "helped" by scheduling extra studies with them so that they may be strengthened and not perish in the day of jehobah's anger.... I bet that would shut the little whiners up in a hurry. Who in their right minds would opt for one more meeting in the week?

I remember in Jr. high when I turned out for basketball and was so clumbsy I stumbled over the painted lines on the court. Anyone "stumbled" by the behavior of others is too spiritually clumbsy to be of concern. Like dead wood, fit for the fire! wow, I coined a new use for "spiritual".... goofus

I guess if you like to thump the good book, you could stumble someone all kinds of different ways. Maybe your best off leaving it alone. Don't thump it. Get a life.

Suppose Brooklyn has been reading all the JWD talk about the JWs spending so much of their time in coffee shops taking coffee breaks instead of actually going d2d?

I never did give a damn one way or another if I stumbled someone, if my doing or eating anything stumbled them, then they didn't have much faith to begin with and were only looking for some excuse to quit going. I could have and still do care less about that nonsense.
