As soon as you say, "I believe..." you have deviated from reality. It doesn't matter what comes next in the phrase. Even saying "I" is enough to fall into delusion, for the belief in the "I", which is for the most part an unexamined assumption, is the source of all problems.
Do you believe in God? oR Jesus?

I still don't know if I believe or not, I'm on the fence with this one. But, I have started reading the Bible and it is all a bunch of goobledy gook so far. If god requires us to worship him in a certain way, why all the mystery? Just tell us already. If god loves us so much why is he making it so difficult to find him? I have asked, and guess what, so far, I have not received.
I am still not ready to acknowledge or deny the existence of god. Maybe I will be one day, but not today.

With all due respect, I believe I do not talk in circles. abr

The best way that I can describe this is the following.
There are several passages that tell a person if they have a realtionship with God. That there are things that are suppose to be seen in a tangible way. After reading the scriptures and seeing these things in my life for myself, I would say yes, I have a personal realtionship with Jesus and his father.
The Bible does not say that faith is without proof. Faith (gr pistis) is belief based off fact. The same goes for the word truth (gr alethiea) which actually translates historical fact. So what Jesus was saying when he said "your word is truth" could be easily translated "your word is historical fact."
Anyway not to get off the subject but as I was saying. Yes I do believe in God not becuase of what I want to believe or condition myself to believe but based off the facts of the Bible.

I am a complete and total disbeliever. For me, it just doesn't add up. I know of no religion that teaches of a god which I find plausible or that compels me to believe in it. I also don't see how the existence or nonexistence of god changes how special we are in any way. I have never really understood why people believe that it does so strongly as many seem to. To me, it's just a question of how we perceive things. But I have found that people with strong beliefs in the supernatural tend to have a very different worldview from most secular atheists. We see and measure truth in radically different ways. So different that it's hard to even communicate together about these issues.
Obviously, I have doubts about Jesus as well. I have to question whether a historical Jesus ever existed at all, but I'm more agnostic about that one. If a normal human who lacked the ability to work miracles was the basis of the biblical Jesus, it's not really important to me either way. I do not believe that a real, miracle-working Jesus existed.
If I'm wrong and there is a god of any sort, then I would expect it to be a deist-god. That is, one who set things in motion and went on to other things after the big bang. I don't believe in such a god, I only point out that a deist-god makes more sense to me than the usual, Judeo-Christian variety.
No offense intended, BTW, I am only answering the question in the post. I already know that believers disagree.

Find this "I" you speak of. Look for it, go ahead - see if it's real or only imagined. Pin it down; what is it precisely? If it's real then that shouldn't be much of a challenge. If it's not real and only imagined then just what are you then? Doesn't everything else hinge on that, including all beliefs in "god" or jesus?
Such a simple question as "Who am I really?" followed by an honest, sincere, and thorough search almost never happens. Who even bothers to ask such a question and then actually look? But for those that do this, however, a most astonishing thing is discovered - freedom, peace, and fulfillment.

I believe in God and Christ.
Are they different or the same?
It doesn't matter for salvation.

I don't believe in God or Jesus. When I was a child I knew God liked to kill children and I asked him to strike me dead. He didn't so I suffered anyway.
Even if they did exist, I have no use for them.

Now that explains so much about the ridiculous things said: 1 out of 20, Avid! Most keep trying to pound the Square Peg into a Round Hole. Yes, there is a lot of idiocy in Organized Religion- as well in ANY group of people. Yes, the Almighty has let terrible things happen for a very long (to us, anyways) time- and the "Appointed Time" may- or may NOT- be now...but is that any real reason to mock God? Or to pretend He doesn't exist? Or to make your opinion 'Gospel'? Sad! Mad
