I was explaining the JW's to my stepgrandma a few years ago, and finally out of the blue she said "So they sound like a cult" I replied "Yes, yes, that's it, they are a cult". Up until that time I was reluctant to call them a cult, because I thought that word cheapened our experience in the JW's. From then on I just started calling them a cult ever since.
