As in the contemporary author, without looking on www.google.com?
If you have heard about him, can I ask how long ago you heard about him, and where did you hear about who he is?
Just curious.

I heard about him a couple of weeks ago. Not sure where I first heard it, but it could have been through on-line news or the book section of my newspapers. I read the LA times BOOKS section every Sunday for two hours, instead of going to the KH.
That's the famous Sam Hill's younger brother.
A union organizer, murdered. My partner is a labor historian. Folk song sung by Joan Baez, among others.
Interesting, thanks for the responses.

I remmember the first verse of the song "Joe Hill"
"I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, alive as you and me.
But Joe, says I you're ten years dead.
I never died said he."
I think he was killed by goons working for owners of copper mines in Montana.
Martin Luther was wrong. Socialists, not the devil, have the best songs.
Robet K. Stock beat me to it, but that is exactly what I was thinking.
You're a smart guy, Mr. Stock!
He is an author, and happens to be Stephen King's son. He has apparently been trying to hide his identity while establishing himself as a writer: full name is Joseph Hillstrom King. I was just curious if many were aware about him and his family connection yet...

My parents used to own a copy of the Little Red Songbook, published by the Wobblies (I think), lyrics mostly by Joe Hill - including this classic:
"Work and pray,
Live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky
when you die.
(It's a lie!)"

I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night,
alive as you and me.
Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead"
"I never died" said he,
"I never died" said he.
"The Copper Bosses killed you Joe,
they shot you Joe" says I.
"Takes more than guns to kill a man"
Says Joe "I didn't die"
Says Joe "I didn't die"
And standing there as big as life
and smiling with his eyes.
Says Joe "What they can never kill
went on to organize,
went on to organize"
From San Diego up to Maine,
in every mine and mill,
where working-men defend there rights,
it's there you find Joe Hill,
it's there you find Joe Hill!
I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night,
alive as you and me.
Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead"
"I never died" said he,
"I never died" said he.

Now ain't that a beauty? Go on to organize!
