My experience has been that JWs are confused about this issue and retreat into what the former teachings were as far as their "conscience" goes. They are afraid to do the wrong thing, so they would rather be "safe" than sorry, in their mind.

I have a question for elders...my husband has been carrying around a blood card in his wallet that has to be at least 9 years old. Is that document even VALID any more if he is in an accident?
I probably know more about the changes in the blood issue than HE does and he is IN and I have been OUT for 10 years!

I don't even carry the ID card with me anymore!! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::... Not so strange, since they have been changed and now are a combination of the previous ID card and the four-page medical document; hence, they are not so easy to be carried by anyone. Not so revolutionary by you, then.

I carry an ID card, it proudly reads "organ donor". The whole world needs to start seeing JW's as a cult. I for one amd going to start an active ministry in South Africa exposing the WBTS. Those of you who pray, now will be a good time to get hubby and I onto that prayer list.

There is no need for confusion the GB have decided to do away with the blood doctrine but it's not one of those things that they can say: "hey we suddenly got new light, God decided to reveal to us that saving lives is above the blood law" because that could blow them apart so they are defusing the tension bit by bit with small retreating steps spread over time. Law suits though are inevitable and I can't see how they can go on arguing "it was purely their decision not to take blood so we can't be blamed for it, don't come after us".
