Thanks Mary and everyone else for that informatiom. I haven't gone for 6 years now, and can see that I'm not missing a thing. Balsam very sad time for you, so sorry about your loss. I have two sons, they are out of the organization, I can feel your pain.

Oh ya, here's another dumb illustration he came up with to justify why none of us losers are good enough to partake: "...If a husband and wife celebrate their wedding anniversary, they might invite their children and friends to attend, but that doesn't mean that they're part of the marriage arrangement." Yes, you read that right the first time. What a stupid, dumb illustration. If a husband and wife had an anniversary party, would they invite their kids and friends to attend and then not let them partake of the banquet?!! Jezus.....what a bozo.........
We had a Bethel speaker who used a similar illustration. He asked us to visualize that we were attending a wedding. Would we come in, sit down, and then wonder if we perhaps might be the bride at this wedding? ...then he segued into the 144,000 = Bride

Mary that sure sounds like the one I attended here in Washington, I couldn't believe how this guy was jumping around the bible and taking things out of context. LOL. I was like am I the only one who can see what going on here? You sure we were not at the same one, LOL
It was more painful than a migraine headache. We all had to go to a hall 1 hour away from my house. There was no parking around. Parked 3 blocks away. Waited for early congregation to finish. Waited 15 minutes in the cold. Sat down. Everyone was quiet. Sang boring song. Bad singing all around.Suffered thru the most boring talk ever. Listened to 4 long prayers. Passed the bread and wine since I'm not worthy. Ended on time. Walked out 1 minute after it ended. Drove home as fast as I could. WHY DO I EVEN GO? | ||
Yah those clowns think they can sing , LOL . I mean they want to put mozart style melodies to bible scripture and expect everybody to make it sound decent? They really need to simplify those songs because you know nobody wants to practice on their own or spare time like churches with choirs that can give you a very spiritual feeling thru the music.
I notice how they avoid using that scripture where jesus says , he that does not eat my flesh and drink my blood doesn't have any life in him at all . That was the point he lost alot of followers but I think it apparent he was talking about entering the new covenant via the wine and bread. There is no scripture saying anybody is priviledged just to pass the stuff around . That would be considered a health hazard if the dept of health saw that going on .LOL
That part about jesus just being a man equal to adam and had no Godlike powers totally caught my attention tho, I don't remember hearing that before , sure he had to die like a man equal to adam but he did have Godlike powers after his water baptism and receiving of holy spirit. Then later on the torture device God withdrew his holy spirit , that's why he said , "My God My God why have you forsaken me" .IMO

Didn't go this year but can relate to your feelings from last years attendance. I felt like an outsider. Everything was so robotic...the talks, the prayer the brother did while reading index cards. Did not seem heartfelt at all. This year, did not want to waste time. It's a big fashion show, with a lot of critics. I commend those that did go because they can inform those that did not attend.
