    lots of mental gymnastics!

    Excellent answer.

I think it has to do with putting all those attachments on their bodies-

A Bethel life is a rigorous life, with lots of fresh air, exposure to a variety of cultures on an on-going basis. Living in harmony with Bible principles allows one to have greater assignments. Faith is proven by its works, after all. Living unhypocritical lives and knowing how to research well means that they learn(ed) by counsel more than most, and less by experiencing the results of poor choices. We are what we eat. If we eat healthy spiritually, then we'll act in harmony with the spirit. It all serves as an inspiration for the faithful. If life can have so many blessings even being imperfect, imagine the joy that can be ours if we can be blessed with perfection, as a result of our dedicated, whole-souled, grateful obedience to those who have the right to be authority figures in our lives.

You'd think teaching deadly policies and having all those lawsuits would cause stress wouldn't you?

Not if you know that there is no damn way anyone can blame you for anything.

Obviously not having to do normal work and having all your physical needs catered for for most of your life is the real reason.

    Well, you answered it yourself.

Governing Body members have paid healthcare - just like Circuit Overseers!

Contrary to this, the poor flock must depend upon Jehovah's promises to "provide" for them.

Of course, when this fails, the government or worldly charities must 'pick up the tab'.

It is as said above, the dudes had a relatively easy life free of stress and also the happiness of having up to six million followers hunging from their every word regarding their religious life. That sense of power must have been exhilirating and given them some extra life prolonging hormones. One thing they never experienced is persecution for their faith, they rather persecuted those critical of their ideas and style of administration.

Yeah, I think some of you hit it perfectly.

The GB has interesting work that they feel is important.

They can keep at the work without having to worry about retirment or being laid off.

Very, very little stress. No worry over bills, car repairs, trouble with your kids, getting dinner, paying the bills, no money worries at all.

Interesting opportunities for travel, etc. which keeps life exciting.

Lots of companionship and social life.

Nuns have been studied for longevity for similar reasons.
