Take a look at Quotes (duplicated before the WT pulled it down):

A Christian woman is entitled to fight for her virginity or marital fidelity to the death.
Amazing that rape is equated with infidelity. Freaking cult.... -

the dubs will probably come out with the excuse..."the fluorescent light gets brighter"...well you all know that a fluorescent light flickers a bit before it comes on

The one about Sodom is interesting because it undermines their teaching about a final judgement of the world at armageddon, as they see it those that suffer divine judgement will not be resurrected and this applies even before the ultimate attack of Satan in the distant future after the millenium ends. But biblically only then there will be the second and final death on disobedient humans. If that is the case it weakens the fear they try to instil in their members about armageddon and therein their control over them.

I got the same response from my father in law! It seems every JW I talk to says the exact same thing, word for word. He said he too had doubts at one time and he did his research and everything he found only strengthened his belief. ( I want to know what WT suggested material he did his research from!) I wanted to, and will mention one day that the whole "light has never been brighter" remark is kinda humorous, just because I've heard it so much. The ironic thing is true light should build upon light if it is going to be brighter. If new light extinguishes old light, then it was never light to begin. It should raise the question of how was it ever considered "light" in the first place. If the new doctrine does a total 180, then the old "light" was not of God. The lights not brighter, it's that the bug zapper is closer.

Means that we, too, have believed a lot of stupid things- and that we sometimes change them when discovered. However, it doesn't explain the goofier & goofier ideas our HQ has on some of the prophecies!

In the early 70's there was an question from readers (QFR) that made the point that women were NOT scripturally free to divorce their husbands and remarry if he was an active homosexual. (or bestiality)
Several months later there was another QFR that re-defined "Porneia" to include homosexual acts, therefore making it possible for a sister to divorce on those grounds.
Prior to about 1972 JW's could smoke, although it was looked down on, then that was revoked and it was made a disfellowshipping offense.
(in 1969 I had a Congregation Servant (PO) who smoked privately.

The generation of 1914 wasn't a flip flop, it was a flop stop. Same thing with the current change of the anointed of 1935.
In my experience, debating with a believing Witness is like being in a pissing contest with a skunk. It's like trying to reason with a drunk.
