How slow USpost is.
I sent a letter 16 days ago to wisconsin from Quebec, and it's not there yet. OK, I took the cheapest and basic service, but still....

For me it is work and diet. I never know when I am going to come home from work. I work in corrections detention and it is a small 100 officer jail so they are always asking us to hold over and work 16 hours straight which is devestating after having been up all night. I tell myself I can retire in 8 more years but it does occupy my thoughts. Many of us try to find better situations but many of us cant. I dont want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire, so to speak.
Then my other preoccupation is diet and exercise And be healthy. I have been counting my calories trying to keep them at 1800 a day plus burning 500 during an hour of exercise, weight lifting and aerobic.
Then Saturday I am playing a performance with my southrern rock band so I am trying to bone back up for that. This will be my first performance with this band in 3 years. 3 years ago we were one of the best bands in the area so I feel a pressure to remeasure up.
I have band practice tomorrow, friday night 8 to 11 and I am hoping I dont have to work 16 hours tonight. If I have to work 16 hours I wont be very good and it wont be very fun. And If I dont have fun then all I will be doing is working. And that's not fun.
Fun has always been imortant to my happiness. So I gues I have fun issues.
Those are todays preoccupations.

When i was not working I was on the computer .......looking at places to go for holiday.
I got stuck on Scotland for a long time..........then found a site that had every place imaginable...........in alphabetical order........I think I got through to the D's......so tomorrow I will go on my trip around the world again.

troubled mind
This morning I was pre-occupied with weather related issues. It was snowy and icey and I drive School bus sooooo. I kept going through my head what I would do if someone slid into us ,what procedures I needed to remember . Then at my next job, a gift store , I was to busy helping customers to think about anything else . For the rest of the day I thought about a Photography job I have coming up . A co-worker wants me to do some family portraits of her sister who is terminally ill . We don't have much time . I am thinking of possible locations and ways to make her comfortable . Trying to think what filters and poses that will help flatter her the most . I feel pressured to do my very best ... these will no doubt be some of the last pictures her family will have of her .
