If he really wished he'd torn the ticket up he'd give it all away to charity.
He says he's given 50 million away so far!
I guess until you've lived, it would be hard to argue the point. I tend to believe I'd give alot away, and hand the rest over to a small number of accounting-type firms to manage, and I'd live happily on the interest. (Hopefully not ALL of that small number would screw me)
But until it happens, "tend to believe" is all I got to work with. Bill Gates seems to do ok.

Jehovah is using Whittaker as an example to us all that gambling is a SIN. If you are tempted to buy a powerball ticket just remember that if you win the jackpot your earthly life will be miserable. If you buy a powerball ticket and don't win, well God will kill you anyway so I guess either way you are screwed.

There was a special on A&E (I think) and it was about some of the lottery winners and how their lives have changed and not always for the good. I suppose it is like everything, with the good comes the bad.
Whittaker alienated just about everyone in town, and things came to a head when he left his car running in front of the Pink Pony strip club and more than $2,000 in cash was stolen.
"I parked my car in the middle of the driveway, I went in to get me a drink to go, and I was drugged and my briefcase was stolen," Whittaker said.
I did not know you could do that.........anyway that was on expensive drink!
I worked in Texas at a furniture store. A 55 million dollar lottery winner was a customer there. They had to hire someone just to answer and field phone calls they recieved so many asking for money. They wanted really to just be left alone.
I went to their new modest home to help them with some furniture selections and decorating ideas. They were very simple people, two kids, very family oriented.
I hope they are doing well.

Sounds like he has a habit of making bad choices.....and placing blame somewhere other then himself.
