I just sent Mr Scammer this email with a Fwd'd attachment of the email detailing how I had hidden the $5000 in the dresser for the shipper.-

--"I sent this email to him this morning- looks like your trustworthy shipper has taken the entire $5000- you fool, I tried to tell you he couldn't be trusted- serves you right!! I am on the road- sorry things didn't work out for you." ------ Now when Mr Slabaugh tries to tell his partner, Mr Scammer that there never was any money, he won't be believed and Mr Scammer is sure that Mr Slabaugh is holding out on him the whole $5000- it sure gets better and better.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! I love the ending. If the guy does come or send someone to check the address it's hilarious and if he doesn't then it will bother him forever. HA HA HA! Great job!

That's so awesome that you would screw these idiots over and send them on a fool's errand. Serves them right.

    Moshe, you rock.

Getting both criminals to go for each other's throats!!!! Classic comedy!!!

You ought to write it down and sell it to a television producer!

sell the story? Well, it has turned out to be a classic case of poetic justice. My daughter has contacts with people in LA , where she lives, that could look at this story- Maybe I can meake a few bucks off these guys yet- Thanks for the idea!

Could Damneds become an avatar for someone?

It looks like to me that Mr Slabaugh took the bait and made a mad 300 mile dash to retrieve the $5000 before Mr Scammer got wind of it.

How did you find this out? Was it something in the email, or a subsequent one? I thought you said that the shipper was the alter ego of the scammer.

This is pretty funny stuff. I just showed my husband this thread and he laughed so hard at your Damneds Chrysler photo that my son came running down from upstairs.

Ah, nice scambait! I'll bet any money his drivers license is a fake though. Personally, I would have him send the check to a Kingdom Hall :)

I am guessing that the scammer was from outside the USA- his English was very similar to those Nigerian emails I used to get before the spam filters came out. I assume that he had a pickup man in Wooster, Ohio that was ready to go to Western Union and get the cash as soon as it was sent to the Slabaugh guy. I thought they had to be the same person, but I am not so sure now. The original person who contacted me I believe now was from outside the US to avoid most attempts at prosecution and the pickup man for the western Union Money must have been a partner of some sort who could claim he was just a shipper and not directly involved. Maybe someone who has law enforcement experience knows better how they set this up.-

The good news is I sold that dresser for my original asking price this morning. I clued one of my old work buddies into my story and he came and bought the dresser for his son's bedroom . He pulled out the drawer and looked for the envelope , too! "Hey, where's the money", he joked! His wife said I am a real good, liar- h'mm, storyteller.
