How did you confront her?- was she in the act of returning him and asking for the reward money and then you said- "hey someone saw you steal him!"

??? Sounds crazy! At least that lady wasn't going to take him permanently...

She should be reported to the cops. (Although if it was the cops around here they wouldn't give a rat's a$$)

Yeah!!! I know what it feels like to have missing pets. We lost our dogs last year for one night and half a day. It was so sad. I'm so happy for you and your family.

I would definitely turn her over to the police if you have enough evidence. Even if you don't have enough,, you should still file a police report.

Thanks everyone. Police will just laugh at me this is South Africa, crime capital of the world, they are so busy with "real crime" that my doggie does not even feature on their list of things to do today. I don't blame them, crime is really bad here. I will however get the story into a local newspaper so dog owners can be aware of the situation. We are keeping my dog at the neighbors house till our building work is done so that he is safe.

I am glad that you find the dog, my dog disappeared a couple of times for about a week but then it came back it just wondered off and perhaps found some females and stayed with them. Once someone stole his collar imagine what people can be up to.
