Witnessing to Jehovah's name and kingdom in modern times requires both Bibles and Bible study aids. To have these always available as needed at a low cost, Jehovah's Witnesses have found it advantageous to produce these themselves. To this end they have formed legal corporations of a religious, nonprofit nature. The first of these, formed in 1881 and incorporated in 1884, is known today as the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania. It is the parent of similar religious corporations formed world wide. Among such are the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., and the International Bible Students Association in a number of British Commonwealth nations.

Is there any scriptural reason why the officers of the WTBTS of
Pennsylvania have to be anointed? Not really. There are about 100 other
legal entities associated with the WTBTS of Pennsylvania, whose officers
are not anointed.

No "anointing" needed since, evidently, Jehovah is running a "Secretary of State/Department of Corporations" up in the heavenly realm.

There is no need for the directors of various corporations used by Jehovah's Witnesses to be members of the Governing Body. At the recent annual meeting of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, members of the Governing Body who were serving as its directors and officers voluntarily stepped aside from their positions. The vacancies were filled by mature brothers of the "other sheep."

Well, GBuss, I guess that's part of their plan to turn over the reigns to the "princes" or the "glorious ones," or whatever they call the elders these days.

Sheer numerics would force them to, because with so many corporations and boards of directors, there aren't enough "anointed" Governing Body'ers to go around, unless they doubled-up on their positions (Pres., V.P., Treasurer, Sec'y, etc.), besides the fact most are getting too old.

And according to the Watchtower of 1995, the "other sheep" are not judged or selected until after Armageddon breaks out . . . so . . . that means the directors of the Watch Tower Corporations are not "anointed" or members of the "governing body", and according to the Watchtower magazine they can't be "other sheep" either. So . . . who are they?

In Canada, there are over 1,000 charities listed under the Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Watch Tower Society (Canada) overseeing all.
