It's a damp spring day here. All the bugs are coming out. This morning I went to do some laundry and there was the creepiest bug I have ever seen before in the laundry tub!
I turned on the washer and started to fill it with water - I thought I'd just drown the dang thing. Turns out I couldn't stand there and watch it struggle to get out. I grabbed a cup, scooped it out and took it outside.
I'm such a wimp! lol

Although I can at times show the Kali side as well and squash spiders!
Most of the time, though it gets the better of me and I'm like--ya know? they just woke up this morning same as me hoping to live thru another day and here I sit with their life in my hand...and I let them live.
You just reminded me of my "pet" spider. He spun his web right outside my back door and I'd walk through it every morning on my way to work and he'd have it rebuilt when I got home at night. I finally after about two weeks of cobweb hair remembered to duck when going in and out. He stayed for about three months maybe and then he was just gone. Spider heaven perhaps...

years ago my room mate and I had a pet spider named "Agatha" who had a web in the kitchen window. We didn't wipe out her web because every morning there would be a little pile of bug bodies on the ledge beneath her web. Healthier than pesticide. She died after a couple of months - I don't think they live long. I mostly try not to kill bugs except I have made an exception for roaches, scorpions and vinegaroons, which are very very ugly cousins of scorpions. We see lots of them here in the desert.
