PBRs (PRECARIOUSLY BALANCED ROCKS),ACCORING TO AN ARTICLE INNEW SCIENTIST,studies suggest some have been in their present position for 10,500 years.

A WORLWIDE FLOOD WOULD HAVE DISLODGED THEM RON THEIR POSITIONS.

The physics alone prove that a world wide flood (with life still existing on this planet) is impossible.

I’m certain that the “flood of Noah’s day” did not cover over every thing on the earth. There is ample evidence that an earth wide flood did occur and devastated coastal regions over the whole globe. The argument (which I buy) is that the entire earthly region that was populated by men was covered over and this accomplished God’s purpose of destroying wicked mankind. What Noah did was save the animals in this region. Obviously he didn’t travel to Australia to rescue the kangaroos or to the Artic to save the Polar Bears. No need to since these animals lives were not threatened.

Wouldn't a "wicked man" specific virus be a more affective way of dealing with all those nasty bad people? And who was it that caused them to "inherit" sin? Punish the victim..... carmel

The flood wasn't world wide. It was at the region of mesopotamia. It is the Guilgamesh epic, that was recorded in cuneiform tablets.

The reason that we find lots of stories regarding the flood it is because during the last melting of the ice age 10,500 years ago. And this event has past from mouth to mouth from the ancient neolythic man, until 6000 years ago when mankind has developed the writting form of the language.

For more info on the problems with the flood, see http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-noahs-ark.html

I seem to recall reading about certain volcanic formations that are very old and very fragile, that would not have survived being submerged. But I can't find the reference now.

When a species in the wild gets down to a few breeding pairs, scientists as much as write it off. It's on its way to extinction, unless we intervene and work hard (and get lucky) to bolster that population. The idea that "two of every kind" would be enough to allow the populations of creatures to reestablish themselves is impossible. Not to mention how tied the creatures are to their environment, and how they would ever live once their environment was so utterly destroyed by such a flood.

All of this can be whisked away by God's Miraculous Hand, of course, but if he was going to work a miracle, then why bother with the flood at all?

Wait a minute! Let me get this straight. There was no global flood? Then maybe the Bible is misleading? Then maybe other things that I've blindly accepted about its contents are in error? Hmmmmmmm!

Would that mean that maybe donkeys can't talk either? Hmmmmmmm!

No, it's just the flood thing. All the rest is true. ;-)

(As an aside, I don't have a problem with the talking donkey. Hey, he's God -- he can make donkeys talk if he wants to. My problem with that story is Balaam's reaction. He doesn't scream, or run, or faint. He instead carries on a conversation with his heretofore mute donkey. Argues with it, in fact!)
