At least there is TV Land so I can watch all those shows and reclaim a little bit of my twisted over sheltered childhood.

Well said Brent! That's exactly how I feel too! At least we have TV Land...They stole the rest of what might have been a "normal" childhood for us.

Gotta rub it in here...I saw it all!!!

My icon shows one of my favorites as a kid growing up in the 70's. Also had the action figure (shown) "The Bionic Man"

The Thursday meetings conflicted with "Cheers", and I recall earlier how the book study conflicted with the original "Battlestar Galactica".

I came in ......in the 80's. I wanted to watch Rosanne and Twin Peaks. When I was DF, I rewarded myself by watching both of those horrible awful, demonized tv shows.

35 years ago there were not that many shows to pick from so not being allowed to watch even a few of them did not leave much. I did get to watch the Six Million Dollar Man and that was always one of my favorites.

We did not even get a color TV until I was twelve so it's always cool to watch those old shows in color.

    We were allowed to watch:

    Dallas

WKRP in Cincinnati (I cant imagine why a previous poster was denied this?)

    The Love Boat

    Fansasy Island

    MASH

and most violent police shows too, believe it or not

    Daytime Soaps

    Three's Company

    Bewitched

or any show that was occultic

Well... when I was growing up... my mom didn't allow us to watch 'Bewitched' - she was a witch ya know. It's kinda funny though... my mom never missed 'The Wizard of Oz' - when it was on TV. (Double standard) There was also Batman that was on two nights - Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm, and Part 2 on Thursday evening at 7:00pm. We always got to see Part 1 - when they got 'caught' - but never Part 2 when they got out of the mess. That really sucked. I also remember in the late 70's - when I worked in Burnet, TX - 'Mork & Mindy' was on TV at 7:00 to 7:30pm. I drove to the local Mr. Gatti's Pizza (in Marble Falls) and would watch the show up till the commercial break at about 7:25pm, then drive the 3 minutes to the local KH in Marble Falls. I would get there just in time to start singing. I kinda regret missing the 'Mork calling Orson' bit that Mork always did at the end of the show. Regards, Jim TX

We got to watch every and any TV show including horror movies. My father was not a JW and my mother was afraid of pissing him off.
