This has probably been a topic before, but why not re-hash?!

Who in your Kindom Hall got away with the way they acted or things they did, just because they were a JW, and what was it?

The P O's son and daughter in law. This was before the elder arrangement. The d i l carried on an affair with my brother for years before they got caught. The were privately reproved no-one else knew about it. There was no repentance at all and they were only sorry because they got caught.

Most of the elder's kids got away with shyte that others did not.

Fornication, drunkedness, lying, laziness, false reporting [on time slips]. You name it - they got away with it. Others who kissed the elder's asses well did too, but the one's who sprung from the elder's gonad-dna got away with the most.

When I was a Regular Pioneer, there were these two other Regular Pioneers who got away with a lot because they were in tight with one of the Elders and the Presiding Overseer. The two of them, along with the Presiding Overseer's grandson drove over to one the families in our congregation and egged their house. They were spotted and identified by the family. The two pioneer brothers when confronted, lied to the elders. They later recanted, and admitted to it.

This fiasco was known by many people in the congregation, yet, the two pioneer brothers were not removed or even publicly reproved. It was incredible. I remember that the family was deeply stumbled by this and shortly thereafter moved congregations. I certainly did not blame them.

When I was in junior high there was a school assembly and there was an entire class onstage for some reason or another. This was the class that the current POs daughter was in and I clearly saw her doing the flag salute. Her hand was on her heart, her lips were moving, etc.

I was nice and didn't say anything--I could certainly understand her predicament, but a couple of years later after we had moved far away when I mentioned this to my parents they told me that I must have just imagined it. Over the years I faded and was eventually DFed and she, of course, was considered a fine sister--married in the truth, pioneered, the whole works.

When I mention anything like this to my Mom she just says that eventually these people get caught out by means of Jehovah's spirit.

At my Dad's JW memorial service about 15 years ago I was there with my 15 year old "delinquent" daughter (we were not JWs). She was pretty wild and she told me that she spotted one of her "bad-boy" friends at the service. I guess they both hung out with the same partiers, smoked pot, shoplifted, you name it. They were both shocked and asked each other, "What are YOU doing here?" She said, "It's my Grandfather's funeral" but it turned out he was the son of one of the elders!!

I was always told that the main reason my daughter had so many problems was because I had "left Jehovah". I wonder what that boy's parents excuse was.

In the congregation I used to belong to, a 17 year old baptized elder's son was recently caught smoking marijuana while at school. His friends ratted him out as a dealer, and the police actually conducted a huge search of his house and found felony amounts of marijuana.

If this kid was an adult, he'd be looking at a big prison sentence. But he isn't.

    Guess what he got???

    Private reproof
