How do they arrive at the number of angels? What am I missing? In my non jw upbringing we were always taught myriads meant and uncoutable number.

Its quite laughable the 'proof' they give of angelic support, and yet as you rightly pointed out they can't hope to get their interpretations to all 6 billion humans, despite this so called help - how pathetic!

Just teasing you Blondie. Hope you know my tongue is almost permanently fixed in my cheek. I, as so many others have stated, truly appreciate the ongoing labor of love you provide here every week.

But, for those who were lucky enough to escape attending (JGnat you bad influence on your hubby!) and/or get their own personal copy of the Craptower, here's PARAGRAPH 16 in all it's glory:

"These words clearly show that the great worldwide evangelizing work of Jehovah's Witnesses has angelic backing and direction. Jehovah is using his angels to direct sincere people to his Witnesses. The angels have also guided the Witnesses to deserving ones. This would explain why it is that on so many occasions -- TOO OFTEN TO BE JUST COINCIDENCE -- one of Jehovah's Witnesses meets a person at the precise time that he or she is going through a crisis and needs spiritual help." (OK, I added the ALL CAPS)

The main reason I noticed it is it's the same point that was made just 2 weeks ago in the WT study lesson!!! I posted about it here:

The pet-peeve quote from 2 weeks ago was: "Proof of angelic help has often been related in Bible literature published by Jehovah's Witnesses.* (References were cited) Such experiences are far too numerous to be dismissed as coincidence."

This week it was:

DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!!

As usual, they say "far too numerous" or "too often" but don't even give so much as a ball-park figure as to how many times they're talking about. If the WTB$ ever starts banning specific books, "INNUMERACY" by John Allen Paulos should be on it. It's about statistical misunderstandings in every-day life written for the lay person.

If any group (Girl Scouts, Harri Krishnas, Mormons or Comcast Cable ) were to spend 3.5 million hours EVERY DAY banging on doors, they are inevitably going to interrupt suicides or be there soon after someone prayed for guidance. BTW, in my earlier post I stated a low-ball number of 2.7 million hrs/day. I got 3.5 million by taking the latest figures from the "new and improved" Revelation Book. It showed that in 2005, there were 1,278,235,504 hours spent preaching. Divide by 365 and you get 3.5 million hours/day of wasted human potential.

OK, I'm done with my pet-peeve rant now.

Thanks again Blondie for all your hard work. It really helps me stay sane every Sunday.

Blondie...it was really really really hard to not laugh during the WT study Sunday "meditating" on your comments. Thank you again for a good laugh (and real food for thought). I tried to distract myself by reading the latest rags from the lit counter....so sad the "life experiences" of those who wasted decades of their life peddling this crapola in the foreign field. Who knows how many doctors there may have been if they had gone to med school instead of Gilead. (any more to this comment and it could be defined as "Thread hijacking"... ha!)

Notice how the anointed are "Christians" by the "other sheep" are only "companions" not "Christians.
Are JWs protected as individuals or only "as a group"?

thanks blondie. I am with open mind on paragraph 16, drove me crazy for the 2nd time in a couple of weeks. the sad thing (and I'll never stress it enough) is that I used to believe it myself too

Yes, angels will execute the 6.5 billion non-JWs, men, women, and innocent babes who do not know the biblical interpretation of the WTS. And what about the bloodguilt of the WTS who have failed to warn excusing themselves as not being able to reach everyone even with the help of over 200 million angels.
The Watchtower claims to be the visible instrument of "God's universal organization", charged with the duty of preaching the good news throughout the earth as a warning of impending Armageddon. You would think, if this was really God's organization, God and his myriads of angels wouldn't limit it to the size that it is. You would think that he would make it as big as it would need to be to preach to every person whose life depends on it, as a massive multimedia effort that would efficiently utilize every form of media to spread the word to all who need to hear it. If God has myriads and myriads of angels carrying out his "invisible" organization, why is there not a similarly formidable "earthly organization"? Why is it, in fact, scaling things back with "Armageddon" so imminent?

Those are easy to answer Leolaia.
Jehovah can read the heart, so He only needs to reach honest-hearted ones with the "message".
And we all know that the only honest-hearted people on the face of the earth are Jehovah's Witnesses and those studying with them.
Hence, no need for a big campaign.
I swear, some JW out there actually would answer you in that way. In fact, I think some have answered my similar ?'s like that. LMAO!
