I think that men are more feminized than years ago, suggesting that its more of a female world to live in than before.

I think that women have more opportunities than years ago, and that they are proving that they are just as good and often better than men in many ways.

I think that many years ago, men had it easier, but today it's more of who YOU are than what sex you are.

But I'm happy to be a man, and wouldn't change.

...is that why you went all the way on the other side :p

Are you sure or am I double seeing it? ;)

I don't think it is so much matter of sex these days but how you present yourself. If you are shy and too accommodating people will walk all over you no matter of your sex.

I think that "in general" men have it easier at this time........because It is a male dominated planet. But thank goodness it is changing and women are taking more control back.......hopfully they do it before its to late.......I'm looking forward to the day were men and women are truly equal.......its not here yet but its on its way..........the men have screwed things pretty good........just look around and you can see that.

women have it easy...they don't work down mines, fight on the front lines(with the odd exception)..they get doors opened for them...seats given up on buses for them...jackets thrown on puddles for them to walk across...excuses made for them when they are moaning all the time...(its my hormones!!!Poor me!!)..and THEN when their hormones run out (and they nearly become normal) they get hormone replacements!!! so they can start moaning again...grrr...they get drinks bought for them .....meals bought for them...poems written for them...stannah stairlifts put in for them (even in a bungalow)when they are just being lazy....they take ages getting ready...then ask stupid questions...i.e "does my bum look big in this"? or in palestine..."does my bomb look big in this"?.....but to answer your question newboy.........men have it much easier........muhahaha...I'm just playing ladies ...you know I love ya....paranoid ninjoid

I don't mind being a woman...but if you are a man, you can have some love handles and still look sexy, if us women has love handles, then we are considered chunky, a bit over weight (now there are some men that are sweethearts, so I am not speaking of them all). Yet, if a man is ugly, they can't just put on makeup! But a woman can!

Just be comfortable in your own skin. We always want what we don't have.

My initial reaction was that women have it easier in modern society. I think there are a lot more (acceptable) options open to women both socially and professionally than to men. I can claim the spaces traditionally held by men, but men can't move into the places traditionally held by women. I suppose that it is still a form of discrimination that it is seen as demeaning for men to adopt roles traditionally held by women.

I think that it is difficult for men to find their role in modern society. They are not the head of the home/breadwinner anymore and the traditional male manufacturing jobs have gone.

I hadn't considered the whole personal security aspect, but in my local town it seems that men can't go out for a drink without the risk of being badly attacked these days.

Yes, places like Iran or muslim countries, the men dominate completely.

But more and more, the women are catching up and taking lead in many professional jobs here.

I think that there are more women than men in our universities and colleges.

I don't think I can say either has it easier than the other. Different challenges.

That being said, I'm perfectly happy being a man. Though I'm sure I would have been happy to be a woman too, were I born one.

I am not sure this question can truly be answered by me because I have only seen the female side of it. I haven't walked a mile in a man's shoes. I also have not lived in the third world.

Even though it isn't easy to be a woman in a man's world, and it IS truly a man's world, I would never want to be a woman anywhere else but in the Western world. Even though there are those who would argue that women in third world countries are more "protected" because of religion and culture, well that depends.

Even though men have the advantage in a physical way, they have it bad in other ways. They have the brunt of responsibility in the family. (I know, I know all about divorce and female headed families but I am referring to traditional families). Men also tend to be more risk takers and that can shorten a life. They also hate going to doctors and that is bad too.
