When I was on the Borg certain sisters would rush into marriage because their "biological clock was ticking."

Basically they wanted to have children and if they were already in their late twenties or early thirties marrying the first "brother" who asked seemed like the way to go.

I was wondering do men have a "biological clock?"

Specifically if you are a man with no children, will you ever reach a certain age that would cause you to worry that your "clock is ticking" to become a biological dad?

    Just curious.

nah, I do not want to be a Dad, it is matter of my choice, good thing my ex wife did not want children either. I am not worried about not being a Dad.

Physically a sexually active guy can continue producing healthy sperm almost till they die. However, some men may start to wonder if they are getting too old to want to have start a family. I am 37 with no biological children and have been wondering if I should, and what age is too late to think of being a dad. My wife is my bio clock, as she is 40 and (at least as long as I am married to her) my choices end with her bio clock.

I dunno about you, but I'd at least want to have children fast enough to see my grandchildren get pretty old.

My grandparents have had the privledge of getting to know thier great grandchildren too. That seems like it'd be pretty great.

This convinces me that most humans are just slaves to their evolutionary instincts: gottabreed gottabreed!!! Even if they're convinced they're living forever and they could just wait a little while to meet Mr Perfect in paradise and make perfect babies under perfect conditions... they still marry the first geek who asks them out on field service. They don't care that he isn't very bright, or even good looking; they've just gottabreed. Millennia of evolutionary momentum has pushed their hormones to this very important crisis in their lives which convinces them that the only reason we're alive is to breed. Of course, they wouldn't put it that way.

Biological Clock? That must be the ticking in my head.

I have regrets from time to time never having been a father. I wouldnt say it consumes me but does make me a little sad sometimes.

Apparently we do, there was something on news the other day. Seems like some new research suggest that older fathers have higher tendency to produce children with different nerve disorders, anything from mild depression to schizophrenia
