at least more important than this post "Fluff Thread - What's your view on farting in public?"

    DazedAndConfused

I am surprised too. Farting, particular in public is a very important part of most peoples lives. True it is partly responsible for the destruction of the ozone layer and may hasten the demise of life on earth. Nevertheless we have to live for today and where ever we are, wherever we be, always let our wind go free.

I hope that you will reconsider your priorities and learn to value one of our must fundamental liberties and freedoms, namely the right to fart in public.

Hoping this finds you as it leaves me!

OK, I give up. Someone needs to post a thread on how to state things. Apparently I cannot come across as intellectually as I feel I am. Do as you want. All I wanted to do was alert others that there was an opportunity to anti-witness in a forum that (as far as I could see) was available in the near future.

Go ahead with your fart threads.

I was trying to inject some satire into your thread in the hope that it might attract more attention.

I understand your frustration more than you may realize. I have been on this site for some years now and I used to start threads of my own. Some worked, while some went down like lead balloons.

I came to realize that the really successful thread are supported by people who have built up a following. To do this takes a lot of time. The other tactic is to send private messages to everyone on a regular basis and try establish a special relationship. This leads to more support on threads you start.

I have neither the time or inclination to do this and have settled for commenting on other peoples threads and avoiding the responsibility of starting my own. This has more to do with my nature that anything else.

Sometime my comments are serious sometimes irrelevant, superficial and tongue in cheek.

Anyway I hope you stick around and don’t take it all so seriously we are here to have fun as well as set the world straight!

So what are you hoping this accomplishes? Sitting down with the producer and discuss? This is the way I see it. Someone goes to a free public viewing and at the end the discussion begins. If by any indications by the posts in this forum are one can expect a bunch of questions and points to be made by the ex-jw. Going from one thing to the next, jumping all over the place. There will be no reasoning, because as we know JW's will not reason with ex-JW's and the other way around. So in the end people who go will see that most ex-jw's are bitter and sad people trying to convert everyone else or turn them against the WTS. I really don't think it will accomplish anything.

And that's what you did!!! Credit to you for it!!!!!! What's the problem???

You've been given several validand constructive reasons in this thread as to why you got no response to the original one.

Try not to take it personally if few people or nobody replies!!!!!!!

Dazed, I did read your thread, but I can turn my television on and watch it for free on May 22 instead of spend several hundred $ to drive hours to a preview. Maybe that's what others are planning.

I never do protests but I have done a LOT behind the scenes to voice my concerns about airing a cult recruitment film, believe me, lots!

Your other thread had a good title. Anyone near Pittsburgh would open it, and several
others did. We just don't have enough people near there to commit to the long drive
for a possible question to be thrown out.

You are intellectual or intelligent enough to post well. It just didn't work. Somehow,
this thread did better than the specific one. I think that's because we can't go to
Pittsburgh, and didn't post there, but want to discuss this with you. There's no
telling what all these random individuals will post on. Some of Minimus' personal
questions that I find very weird do great on here. Many deep JW issues die out on here.
    GO FIGURE.

I think you are making the mistake of believing everyone's priorities are the same as yours. I have read some of the posts about the documentary, but I'm not really interested in seeing it. I'm not a JW any more, I know what they are like, the documentary seems to be more aimed at people who don't know much about the WTBTS. I have other things to do with my time than go see a documentary about an organization with which I am unfortunately very familiar.

    Hang in there, DAC!

Boy, can I relate to your surprise and consternation. I, too, felt much the same as you in much the same circumstances. But I have, after numerous disappointments, decided to stay on, though I have "threatened" (to myself) to just walk away. You have received so much encouragement and experienced advice - food for thought. Sad Emo is not really sad. She is always so upbeat and positive, helping us to see what is good. Someone is reading what you wrote though not replying; that reader may be moved intellectually and/or to go to the program. Trevor, with his jovial and cheery response, sought to make you laugh and helped me to not take MYSELF so seriously. OTWO said, in effect, that fluff [or let's just say subjects of less weight than OUR issues] appears to triumph over some matters of apparent importance. But not always. Sometimes we want to laugh and give our brains a rest. And Hortensia shoots from the hip - 'Why should I go? We all have our priorities.'
I'm so glad you were surprised because your title caught my eye and I got to "meet" you and see all these wise and wacky and wonderful comments. Keep threading - you shall be heard!

Dazed and Confused, The only reason I never commented on your thread is that Pittsburgh is way too far for me right now. If money were no problem right now, I would gladly drive up to Pittsburgh and give a good anti-witness.

Something else you may not be aware of is that last year there were several Knocking previews across the country, and some of our board members went and spoke to the crowds.

Besides the majority of posters on this board are from Texas,Pacific Northwest, Florida, The UK, Australia, and Canada, and there arent many posters from the Pittsburgh area on here, that I know of.

Thanks for posting this though, and hopefully someone will make it to the Pittsburgh preview.
