I am am supremely happy for one year, then all the people I love would be also. THEY aren't part of the amnesia curse, so it would be worth it. Besides, all kinds of good things that led me to be happy for that one year would not just go away at the end of it. Every pebble in a lake leaves ripples. I will be having lots of good ripples for years to come!

New boy, thats kind of my favorite explanation for our exhistence on this planet. I say we are spirits having human experiences. We live in our paradise somewhere in another dimension where everything is perfect. And from perfection comes boredom. When we get bored we take a trip to the pleasure planet, earth and have a human experience for a brief period of time 0 to 100 years. When the rides over we go back and hang out in paradise untill the boredom sets in again and we book a trip back to the pleasure planet. Some trips to earth scare the crap out of us and some are almost as boring in paradise. Then for weekend jaunts we can sign up to come back as an animal. For shorter get aways insects. But every time we come back to the earth we forget all our trips here. We have them on hard drive back home in paradise and we do reflect upon them until we get bored again with perfection and take a trip back to the pleasure planet. Materializing is the major game in town for spirits.

Another take to answering your question from a purely human perspective. Why not take the offer? I am 54 years old. And i remember next to nothing of my first 5 years and not a whole lot of my first ten. So where do I sign up?

My original thought was no I would not want to if I couldn't remember, but then the thought occured to me that we ultimately don't remember *anything* anyway, so what's one year when confronted with an infinity of oblivion? Maybe I would like to spend one year.
