I just read the following on another discussion board.
the body of elders had received a letter from the society outlining a load of petty, irritating rules on how to conduct the WT study and the elders weren't happy about it. "Pathetic" was the phrase my dad used, and I get the impression he wasn't the only elder who had used that expression. Most of them were furious.
Has anyone heard of this or have a copy of the letter?

Oh I would just love to see that letter!!!. Looks like the blutty GB is conveying the very latest rubbish from the communications channel.

Thanks for the information. The following statement in the letter is a perfect example of information control as expected in high control groups.

Amaxing. Its just weird how we can never see these things up close and in your face while on the inside. So I guess the book study comments will be squelched next.

LOL - When they say "research", they are really saying that the Society's writing staff spent much time pouring over past Watchtower materials to make sure they get it right. Any outside materials that do not agree with "current" Watchtower "understanding" are of course dismissed as "worldly wisdom".

Are they serious? The "Faithful and Discreet Slave"? They seem to forget that their recent QFR article in the May 1, 2007 Watchtower shot that teaching to hell. The article stated that annointed ones do not demand special attention and do not necessarily have more Holy Spirit than the "other sheep". It should be obvious to everyone that the term "Faithful and Discreet Slave" is just a code term for the Governing Body and their writing staff.
Poor dubs. These Sunday Watchtower studies are going to be about as interesting as seminar on cost accounting. The whole purpose of all of this is total and complete thought control over all of the 6 million members by the centralized leadership. This is an arrangement that would make Joseph Stalin and Chairman Mao quite proud.
The USSR was a command economy and the Watchtower world is a command theocracy. The Watchtower superfine apostles are control-freaks obsessed with monopolising the information flow. They are shit-scared of any independent clique of elders congealing and gaining momentum.
The restoration of primitive Christianity? Yeah right! Show me in the bible where the so-called first century Governing Body completely controlled all teaching in the congregations.
