I like these reminders. Since I have zero interest in reading the propoganda, I always wonder where the organization stands these days. Sometimes I actually naively think to myself, they couldn't possibly be the same way they were when I was growing up, surely they have evolved somewhat--somewhat! LOL! gardening in suits...yep, same ole' same ole.
But hey, if it makes some souls happy to be told how to dress for gardening, bike riding, etc. they can have it.
still makes me chuckle.

Yesterday when I was throwing out a bunch of WT and Awakes I couldn't believe some of the pictures on the front. For an Organization that is supposed to promote a "wonderful hope for the future" their pictures certainly were the opposite. Lots of doom and gloom, kids crying, unhappy people on the covers! So glad they are gone now!

my father-in-law who always thought he was better than anyone else and so made a perfect elder in his congregation, did everything in dress pants, shirt and tie, He even put up a fence in in his dress clothes complete with tie...
Did he have his own TV show?
Greeeen Acres is the place to be....Faaarm living is the life for meeeee...
I'm with ex-nj-jw. Wash your hands.
it's like drinking milk that has passed it's due date and saying ... 'i won't vomit'
The propaganda never ends they don't want to see a large educated class appearing among the JWs because it can prove troublesome to their control over the R&F hence the misinformation about the end being so very near and the futility of going to university. The brighter young dubs can become pioneers and serve the org rather than be potential opposers who had their eyes opened by education, by a sharpening of their perceptive abilties.
Ewww. I think I threw up in my mouth a little.
That article basically talked about how EVERY young male in highschool wants to get into a sisters panties, unbelievable and sad...
Well, that much is true. But whether those panties are worth getting into--ah, therein lies the discernment.
I read the advertisement for the Following the Christ convention this summer (in my moms bathroom the other day-just had time for the back page:) ) It specified EVERY single talk, apparently, they AlL had the word Christ or Jesus or Messiah or something in them. I have never seen such a complete 'preview' EVER of an upcoming convention/assembly. I think they were really trying to make the point that they are christians and really trying to convince all the religious people that they are safe among JWs. I think it is a major attempt (I am thinking ultimately vain) attempt to gain numbers. And yes, I too had that funny upchuck feeling in the back of my throat as I read it.
