WTS uses church vocabulary to hide its purpose

So often the WTS uses 'respectable' language to obscure their true intent.

A recent news release sees them using the word "outreach".

03.19.07International outreach for millions more to attend

This surely is not in their usual vocabulary, in fact if you were to ask the average dub I suggest they would find it difficult to give a clear description of its meaning.

Yet in describing the distribution of the "Special Invitation" to the Memorial™, the WTS describes that as 'outreach'.

Interesting, I wonder what will be next? Perhaps their outreach may lead to community involvement as is done by churches? I think not!

Yet that is what the community at large may expect from such a headline.

Still, it makes for good, that is to say acceptable, reading in "the World™".

Perhaps you can think of other examples of where the WTS have used misleading language to make thir message seem acceptable.

They don't know what the terms "Denomination" or "Non Denomination" mean. They are unfamiliar with words like those. One means dependant with other church bodies, laymen and a president. The other means independant with deacons and a pastor as the head of that church alone. The JWs would fall under the category of Denomination.

In France you are not disfellowshipped anymore, you are excommunicated, just like any catholic evildoer. Is it the same in english speaking countries ?

Also, the french WTS branch committee has turned into protestantlike Consistoire.

I think the same term has been implemented worldwide. In scandinavian langues, the term "excommunicate" - being more politically correct - has also been implemented in Watchtower usage. Also another term for judiciary committee has been used, making it sound slightly softer.

Now open , the KH Food Pantry!

-except the only food is what is provided by the Faithful and Discreet Slave, and only a termite could digest their books and magazines.

The Wacktower pantry has been open since January of 1890, quote- " We are convinced that the Watch Tower is God's chosen vessel for dispensing "meat in due season" "

In the United States, in my ranging area, excommunicated Catholic people are not snubbed or shunned by church enforcement, by doctrine, or by family members. I was surprised when I first learned that. All excommunicated means in Catholic terms is they can't take communion.

That's a fact that was not taught us at my local Kingdom Hall.

Yeah....isn't that sumthin? The Catholic Diocese does NOT send monthly reminders or magazines filled with the "latest" admonition and counsel on who to allow into your home, who you can speak to or who is permitted to sit in the back of the Church for an undetermined amount of time, making no eye contact with others, either.

Of course, all this behavior is done.....with (Christian) "love" dontcha know.

The point to this however is that the RC church teaches that the Sacraments are an essential part to your salvation, so if you die as an excommunicated, you go to hell for eternity. There's definitely no church endorsed shunning though (but at family level there sometimes is - been there, experienced that ...)

Another 'Christianism' that I've noticed creeping into the Watchtower mags is reference to 'The Lord's Supper' instead of their usual 'Evening Meal'

The Society likes to use the term 'ecclesiastical authority' or similar for PR matters, but you'll never find it in the publications. That is definitely a term from Christendom.

Just another way to look mainstream while not carrying mainstream content. Use of Christendom words in public relations makes them look better to the public, while they continue to beat up the flock. Look for more of those words in the Showcase Edition of the Watchtower when it comes out next year. Also, look for additional words and outright lies to appear in those showcase editions.
