If I remember correctly, when Bro. Knorr died in the 1970's, most the news was spread through word of mouth. Also, there was his obit in the local New York newspapers. I don't recall ever seeing anything announcing his death in either the WT, Awake, or Kingdom Ministry/Service (whatever the heck it was called back then).

Isn't it odd that many JWs don't see the fallacy of highlighting a death of a GB in the Watchtower magazine? Well, perhaps they do, but they aren't saying anything about it.

Why aren't the scattered FDS class/annointed being published the same way as these elite FDS members when they die?

Because it is a PUBLISHING COMPANY! When I worked for a well known international company for many years, all of the company monthly newsletters would give the updates on the executive board members. In this case, the WTS gives the same update on their board members, albeit their death. It is just printed in their bi-monthly newsletters called the Watchtower.

xBethelite here. These announcements are made to the Bethel Family during Morning Worship or during the Afternoon "Meal".

As of last year - The Governing Body told the Bethelites that they can be dismissed for emailing certain Bethel matters. Thus, internal information is hard to come by.

thank you and have a great day!

The generalpopulation in my hall know about the death. The one that care that is. I almost gave my self away when I said I knew.
