I am so glad that so many young people are leaving the WT.

Yes, and the existing congregations are getting older and older.

I went back to visit my former congregation not too long ago and found a drastic change. Everybody is turning gray! Hardly any kids. No infants! Just a few scattered teenagers. Honestly, the average age would be 45 years old in that congregation.

My current congregation, the average age is about 35 years old. I'm living in an area where the need is great, so many in my congregation are childless as they are also serving where their is a greater need.

This makes me wonder what my Dad is thinking. Both of his sons are no longer in the JW religion. I wonder if he blames himself, or maybe my disfellowshipped mom and all of the "outside" influence from my "worldly" family.

They are so cynical and manipulative, after ruining the future of so many JW kids that were bright enough to get university degrees they still go on with the same lies, armageddon is near so why bother. Thousands of JWs know better as they have to struggle in menial jobs to get by in life while the end they thought was supposed to come long ago.

My heart goes out to those who have family members that shun them. I am so lucky to have parents who still talk to me even though I DA'd myself last year. They've been in the "truth" for over 40 years and are not "spiritually weak." I hate the fact that the WTS tries to heap the blame on them, that somehow my parents must be failures because I left. Of course, I have repeatedly made statements to my parents that they are NOT to blame, and that I love them and always will. I want them to be happy, but I will not sacrifice the rest of my adult life to some organization just to appease others even if it means that my parents one day do decide to shun me.

dave,good luck with your parents..,mine were ok w.me too,till one of the witlesses saw me and my mom out to lunch in public!!!!they have been a buttwort since..my poor parents are being robbed of the only human on the earth who really loves them for who they are.but,on the other hand,i saw the light when i was like,14..so its not impossible for folks to change their perspective..meanwhile,enjoy these precious days w/your parents!!!you just never know when the elders will decide to 'bring the hammer down',or take a fancy to an estate....
