I believe that pomegranates are extremely good for you as well, but I think eating the pomegranate itself is superior to drinking the juice that has been processed. Many don't like to do this because it's a hassle dealing with extricating the seeds from the pith. Here's a simple solution to that problem. Break the pomegranate up into sections, and submerse the sections in a bowl/pot filled with cold water. In the water, remove the seeds from the pith. The seeds sink, the pith floats. Swish them around to release the pith, then use a sieve to remove the pith. Drain the water, and you will have a nice bowl of pomegranate seeds to snack on.

I discovered the benefits of pomegranate juice a couple of months ago when I was on some particularly aggresive antibiotic treatment that was causing all kinds of problems with my guts. I visited someones house and they offered me a drink - within 10 minutes my stomach was feeling much better so I've continued drinking it regularly since.

I LOVE pomegranates! I don't like it in juice form though don't know why! I look forward to every october when they are available here and cheaper, my boys love them too. I'm glad they are so good for you now i have a good excuse to buy more! Someone mentioned mangosteen - i'd never heard of it until i saw it in Tesco's last month, nearly 60p for this tiny thing but it was delicious!
