Still we have more cancer and murder than in the times long ago
Yes we sure do. Higher numbers of murders can be attributed to higher population density (i.e., greater numbers of people living within a specified area) and higher incidence of cancer can be attributed to increased life expectancy (i.e., in general, people in modern scoieties living longer than during earlier centuries; older people are more likely than younger people to get cancer, etc.).
It's amazing what a little bit of context can do to seeming proof that "conditions" in the world today signify "the time of the end".
