Why the so formal attire?

Having visited various churches I have seen that many of their members are casually dressed while worshipping. The contrast with the JWs is great, why do they always have to be formally dressed in their suits and anyone wishing to dress casually is frowned upon?

It goes to show how pharisaic and controlling the cult is. It's not the attire that matters but the spirit of the person.

In retrospect, I think they are trained to be like slick salespeople. The ol' guys in Crooklyn want the rank-and-file to "sell" their message to new recruits by always dressing in their "Sunday Best" even when it's Saturday morning.

It goes hand in hand with the JW philosophy of "standing out" and "giving a good witness" ... even though it means dressing inappropriately for the weather like a complete moron.

That may well be the reason the (unpaid) employees of the corporation must be presentable to maximise the chances of selling their products and making new recruits. The public must have this image in their minds this awareness that the company is presentable and responsible. They are the JWs that go around in their smart suits and suitcases with tidy haircuts and clean shaven.

For worship, I actually like the idea of smart-casual. The jeans and t-shirt really don't
seem appropriate, but I would say that my standard is for me, while I should not
apply it to someone else. You wear what you want to church.

One who looks to others to think for him/her should not complain if the others impose formal dress requirements upon him/her.

The dress code didn't bother me. That's probably because my family often went to the Ukrainian Catholic Church when I was growing up, and most people dressed up there. I still like to dress up occasionally, but certainly not three or more times a week.

I've attended my husband's parents church. I was surprised at how many were what I thought under dressed, in overalls and tshirts. When I asked my husband about it, he said for many that was their personal best.

I disliked that, imagine the money parents had to spend kitting out ever growing kids in suits. And little girls (and the bigger ones too!) freezing in winter because trousers are frowned upon.

The WTS want to show that they are different than other religions. They want control over their members. They want neighbors near the KINGDUMB HALLS to see that they look and act different. ( I guess wearing a suit makes you look more honest )

I see people walking into other Church's with sandals, shorts, short dresses, hats, gym shoes and other attire that is not appropriate for church. The WTS always take things too far. Nice slacks, dress shoes, and collared shirts are appropriate. Pants suits for woman are also fine .

About 20 years ago,you didn't need to dress up for the BOOK STUDY. Then the WTS said that the''NEIGHBORS'' near the KINGDUMB HALLS and private homes would notice that the Witnesses weren't dressed properly.(like they really noticed and cared).

The WTS want control in little and big matters so no questions will be asked.
