Ohh ouch babe, but ive been in your position before, my first hubby's and I relationship was an interstate one on the mobile phone, we racked up about $4000 dollars in mobile phones, we had them disconnected and it took us like 2 years to pay it off.

I use Skype and Skype-out. Buy a usb all-in-one headphone that is Skype approved- works the best.
Skype-out lets you call a phone# from your computer. Works real good when calling out of state KH's and the caller ID shows a strange phone number- not your home.
Skype-in gets you a local phone number and you could set one up for say, Los Angeles as a local call, while you were living in NYC so that your family/friends/lover could call you without any long distance charges.

Poor crumpet. This amount reminds me of the beginning of internet when I got involved in discussion boards and pad 5Eurocents per online minute. I use skype for conferences and when talking to a friend in Canada. Just a cheap 15EUR Headset will do.
We had Skype for a season. It worked kind of like a pre-pay phone. We deposited money online into our account and it was A LOT cheaper. I believe it was about 3 cents a minute.
Now we have something called Packet 8. It works well and we can call anywhere in the USA and Canada for Free!!!

I have actually got one of those mics that you plug in and a headset and I did download Skype - although my computer is having probs so not sure if it has saved the download. So Skype it is for me.
What would be much better is if all my friends and lovers could just relocate and be with me, then I wouldnt have to rack up the phone bills.
Skype would have saved you a lot of money if you had used it all you need to do is buy a cheap microphone download the skype software which is free, the set up is easy, and you can connect with friends that are online and talk for hours for free. These are the PC to PC calls. There need to be PCs and internet connection at both ends.
You can even call phones from your computer but there is a small charge per minute you must check them out. These are the PC to phone calls.

I'm not a phone person myself. My mobile phone plan is 300 outgoing minutes with free incoming calls and night and weekend minutes. I've never gone over. I hate talking on the phone, and seldom call people if it isn't work related or I don't have a very specific question to ask.
