Definitely a lead up to a motivating article next week, and I haven't read it yet..
if you already associate with a congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, you can likely testify to the warm fellowship that you enjoy there and the sense of security that you have.
There are many here that would splutter derision at that statement - and a good many that are still in and suffer in silence..But then, I am just a bitter and twisted apostate.

When an elder came by my house the end of March to invite me to the Memorial and how much my husband and I were missed at the KH, and could we take the time to come this year, I told him that I could observe Jesus' death at home, and didn't need to come to the KH. He said "what about the emblems?" I said they didn't have any significance for me anymore as partaking of them is only for the anointed so why should I come just to pass them along to the next person? The WT, just seems to be pushing the unanointed Christians more and more out of the club, so to speak as this article so glaringly describes.
"The elders are the congregation"? Good lord! What more can they take away from the "publishers"?
Rotten misled stupid religion! They are playing with lives!

Yeah, 'Christendom' doesn't just use Church to apply to buildings, it also has a double meaning, including 'the body of believers in Christ' So that would not be an inaccurate interpretation.
Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. I especially appreciated how last week you shared back and forth with each other. This was just a set-up article for re-emphasizing the authority of the elders next Sunday. The problem the WTS has is there are "renegade" elders that try to avoid the directives of the WTS/FDS/GB. After all, the CO only comes around every 6 months to check up on them. And who knows better how to deceive the admin, but the lowest level of the admin, the ones charged with enforcing the rules.

A few thoughts:

Proof? Or is the congregation just a social invention after all, later morphed into a "provision from God"?
“It thus seems that in this verse "the congregation of God" applies to Christians living at a certain time. Accordingly, one can speak of God's guiding, providing for, or blessing the congregation, meaning all Christians at a given time, wherever they are located. Or we can speak of the happiness and peace prevailing in God's congregation today, meaning among the whole Christian brotherhood.”
COMPLETELY SPURIOUS ARGUMENT. Nothing Paul says here indicates he has separated the ones he refers to as distinct from the congregation in other passages; the WT here is saying that Paul views these ones he is worried about as snapshotted in time, set apart from the overall congregation. AN INVENTION.
This article touches briefly on a very touchy subject for the WT: holy spirit. How much more holy spirit do the anointed get than the OS? Is it the same amount? In view of the recent statement that the anointed are not more spiritually gifted or spiritual than the OS, just what is the holy spirit's role? Is it just as a signal to the anointed: you are chosen?
A pretty pointless study that should bore the majority of the R & F, as said its just to lead into the next article. Good points about the anointed verses 'other sheep' , how do they try to apply things to this invented group of people thery have? Why was it so easy to go along with the two class system? I saw there was only the anointed mentioned in the Bible but i allowed myself to continue to going along with the false intepretation for far too long.
