.....This is a hypothetical. Most of us know that they will change doctrine in order to keep this going. But, if somehow the doctrine isn't changed, and there are no more 'anointed ones' left in the org....and if Jesus hasn't returned yet...what happens then?
What would happen if all of the "annnointed Ones" die before Jesus returns?

No one on earth knows who all the "real" or "genuine" anointed are. Although the WTS takes a head count once a year, it does not officially believe that all that partake at the KHs are "genuine."

Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller. Yet, referring to the great tribulation, Jesus stated: "Unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:21, 22) Evidently, then, some of Christ’s "chosen ones" will still be on earth when the great tribulation begins.*** w97 8/15 pp. 14-15 par. 12 Living for Today or for an Eternal Future? ***
Consider the text at Revelation 7:1, 3, which says that the "four winds" of destruction are held back "until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads." This is not referring to the initial sealing, which takes place when those of the 144,000 receive the heavenly calling. (Ephesians 1:13) It refers to the final sealing, when they are irrevocably identified as tried and faithful "slaves of our God." The number of genuine anointed sons of God surviving on earth is greatly diminished. Furthermore, the Bible clearly states that it is "on account of the chosen ones" that the opening phase of the great tribulation will be "cut short." (Matthew 24:21, 22) Most of those professing to be of the anointed are quite elderly. Again, would this not indicate that the end is close at hand?

Bloondie...so please ask this...how on earth do they ignore the scriptures in Rev: 7 that states that the 144K Are Jewish, and teh Scriptures Rev. 14:4 that states they are Male (don't defile themselves with women) virgins?

The WTS arbitrarily decides what is literal and what is symbolic in Revelation. 144,000 is a literal number but they are symbolic men actually being both men and women, not defiling themselves spiritually.
The WTS plays by its own rules.

There is no longer any reason to think that the "anointed" will ever die off. The anointed were all supposed to have been gathered by 1935. Other post-1935 anointed began to pop up, but it was explained that they were replacements for original members of the 144,000 that had not remained faithful. It was argued that the declining numbers of the "anointed" was a sign that the end was right around the corner because some still had to be on Earth when Armageddon came. Well, all of that has now changed recently. There has been "new light" on this matter because it was becoming laughable that a solid majority of the governing body were of the "replacement" class. Also, the numbers of anointed kept going up every year. To fix this the Society now says that we can no longer say when the anointed were gathered. In essence, the 1935 date used for this purpose is now gone. New anointed can theoretically appear at any minute. It is no longer necessary for them to have replaced any former anointed that fell away. It was a very subtle way of getting out of the corner they had painted themselves into. Of course, they walked all over the wet paint, but how many people noticed? It was printed in a Questions from the Readers article in the back of a Watchtower magazine. How many witnesses actually read the magazines cover to cover? This is just another the-end-is-really-near proof that has been thrown into the dumpster.

When the governing body discovers that they are the last anointed, they will simply tell their assistants
that they might be the anointed, also. Soon, they will be. This situation will not happen. That's
what destroying their 1935 speculation was about, wasn't it? -

The WT will keep making their own new rules as they go. After one century, they are getting quite good at it. What is sad is that active JWs don't question these
