I apoligized for my "dead elder" comment....

I can see where you are coming from with this NVR.
Some debates do. almost inevitably, become heated at times, in
paricular the ones on atheism/theism, creationism/evolution and
politics. More oftan then not, once the "battle lines" are drawn the
insults start to fly from both sides. I can see how some of the comments
on these threads would be viewed as rude and arrogant, I get the
same impression myself when reading through them.
Personally, I usually avoid involvement in such topics. I dislike
seeing posters calling other posters "stupid", "idiotic" or "a$$holes"
for merely holding, and expressing a differrent opinion to their own.
I just wonder if they would behave in such a way towards their
family or work colleagues? I doubt it somehow.
There seems to be a few posters who make a sarcastic or even
downright nasty comment on virtually every thread they post on. I find these
even harder to understand. I wonder sometimes if maybe they don't
get to say much at home or work, and have to resort to expressing
themselves anonymously on here.
Whatever their reasons, I agree with you when you say that this
kind of attitude alienates more people than it will ever influence.

and so far, I've never gotten nasty with anyone either ....nor do I intend to. It's not in my nature. I tend to stay FAR away from controversy....especially when the name throwing begins . It makes one question the age and the mentality of such ones sometimes...they just love the constant fight.
Not me, I'm a lover, not a fighter .
Thanks to all for their replies.
Just a word to Vernon Williams. I was not thinking of you brother. You are a gentleman.
I too have apologized for words typed that were misunderstood by some.
I was referring more to a general overbearing, inconsiderate tone utilized by some posters.
Human nature will always be facinating.

Am I in the right place for some NINJA bashing? LOL!
NVR! I try to stay even tempered when posting a new topic and responding to someone's post. Because I'm not a computer whiz, I can't respond with cut ,copy and paste with illustrations etc. Like some of those who can do all sorts of things with their computers. So, most of my responses are limited to what I have in mind and am able to write here.
I don't get into he said she said type of discussions and I stay away from controversy that lead to clashing, quarrels or disputes. I posted a topic once that dealth with the issues of "Two Opposing Camps" One for and one against any scholarly topic and there was no infighting over it.
I'm old school, before computers, basic hard key typewriters and then electric typewriters etc. I was always the number #2 pencil and yellow legal pad paper guy. All my talks and written responses were always done with #2 pencil and yellow legal pad paper. I never took any classes in computer software. I even type with my index fingers, because of a nerve injury to my right arm that goes down to half of my right hand, pretty fast I might add.
Imho. The way to handle rough responses is to remain low key yet informative and leave the rest up to the administraters to handle.

I've just about given up trying to understand some people.
Some people just thrive on controversy, or trying to get a "rise" out of others. I try to stay as far away as possible from that "type" of person or poster.

Of course Crumpet! It's always the right time and place to bash NINJA!
I've just about given up trying to understand some people.
You know something BB?
I was just saying that to a good friend yesterday afternoon. He laughed at me. He said, "You're just now realizing that that's a losing battle?" I guess I've got alot to learn. I still want to think the best of people. But sometimes, we get disappointed, huh? I know I disappoint plenty.
Take care BB. You're a kind soul.
